Ya, it was Monday that the article was written almost as if it was a sure thing he was starting there.

Rashean the I-N-T Machine Mathis- best CB in the game
TMD's "predictions" so far for 08 season:
-Minnesota and Philly in the NFC championship game with Minnesota in the Superbowl
-Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game
-Houston a top 5 rushing team in the 09 season
-Houston seeded higher in the playoffs than the jags
- jags finishing 9-7 at best
- Browns finish better than the Jags
-Jags finish last in the AFC South after a bad showing in the preseason
TMD and I have a bet for $100 on the Jags wins
-Denver winning the AFC West LOL
-Bengals over Jags 24-21

Excellent article with lots of great information.  Thanks.

Since the running game has been so strong it will only get better with the upgraded passing game this year, so the offense could have a "break out" year.  And the overall defense looks better than ever.....

As a way of putting a bow on training camp, I wanted to look at where we stand currently with regard to the 4 areas that I saw as being critical this off season.

These were areas of the Jaguars off season that I anticipated would generate the most speculation.  It turned out that each one that I thought would be interesting to watch was indeed worth focusing on.

Now that camp is in the rearview mirror, I wated to toss around what I learned about these focal points for me during Camp Del Rio.

Camp Del Rio 2008: where do Jags stand in key areas of focus?

I can tell you that us folks north of the border appreciate the firsthand take on what was going on.  It is great to hear a take without having to wonder if the situation was being "padded" by a reporter wanting to keep in good with the coaches, etc.  Up here, we don't get much Jags coverage in the local fish wrap given the Falcons are the market team.  So, I just wanted to say thanks.  Now, I am ready for some games, I have purchased my "sunday ticket," (in fact, in addition to cable, I keep directv up here just so I can watch the jags), and my son and I always make a trek or two to watch our boys in person.  GO JAGS!!!

Ready to whip some A$$.......

Not that I have an opinion on this either way, but the BW to SS was one of Vic's "stories of the offseason". He has been bringing this up at every opportunity this offseason. He was talking about that move long before Drayton Florence.

Vic is a good writer, and he probably does receive significant input from the coaches. However, I am always a little skeptical when I read one of his articles about something I have heard him endorsing on the radio for 6 months until I see it in action myself =)

Great report, Tim. Your love of doing this shows in every report, and it is much appreciated.

Now, I have three questions:

1. Did you drink plenty of water?

2. Was there any kicking of the ball?

3. If so, did it make a good 'Thump!' sound when it was kicked?

You may want to implement these details in your future reports. They are trademarks of a 'real' writer.

Great report FBT. Do you think there will be room on this roster for Charles Davis? Also, it seems like every off-season/preseason Wyche steps up his game, barring any injuries do you think he makes this roster and if he does do you think he will get playing time? Lastly, do you see Pettway making the roster because it seems like Groves could be used in the same role and I would rather keep Wyche.

Charles Davis is actually one of the more entertaining stories of training camp.  I didn't figure him for the roster initially, but after watching this guy in training camp, I think we may have found a third TE that we will want to hang on to who isn't named Wrighster.

Based on how he catches the football, I think Koetter will find a way to work him into the playbook.

Let's see what happens with Pettway/Wyche in the preseason.  Wyche has had the better camp overall, but the cream rises to the top when the hitting goes live.

when did sensabuagh overtake williams? just a day or 2 ago there was an article on how well a fit brian williams was at SS.

Sensabaugh was making plays that can change fate on a dime.  Monday can be an eternity in roster evolution.

There was an article written about Reggie Williams by the senior editor of this web site that made it sound as if it was an absolute certainty that the receiver was getting cut last year.  A week later (actually 1 play and a lost helmet later) and Reggie is setting the franchise record for TD receptions.

I tried to intentionally lose my binocular case so that I could report on the hunt to find it, but it's difficult to lose something on purpose.

I did that exact thing with my mind years ago.

Drink more beers while you do your camp reports, then you will compete with the Titans guy.

That would have been a very compelling read right there. I sure hope you can have those skills mastered by next year.
