| Even before Meester's injury, I thought Drew Miller would be a wondeful candidate to make the team. I'm an out-of-towner, so I only have what is available through this site, but regardless he looks like a solid player.
Now that Meester is down, does he have a better shot to make the team? I think he can be really good behind Norman for insurance (not yet starting), but at the LEAST make the practice squad.
Is the team really committed to getting Nwaneri under center (I have heard rumors of "cross training" some of our lineman) or can Miller lock up the backup role?
Any general info on Miller is also very appreciated. As an aside, I am disappointed with Cotrone's injury. I really REALLY started to like that guy's potential. I hope its something minor, though from what I hear, its not.

| His chances got somewhat better becasue of the Meester injury, but he's still behind Norman and Nwaneri. More than likely, he winds up on the practice squad.

| | From what JDR has said, it appears that Meester will NOT be going on IR, so he will be taking up a roster spot even though he will not be able to play. Keeping Drew Miller while keeping a roster spot open for Brad Meester seems to me to be committing too much to the Center position. Accordingly, I would assume that Drew Miller is a long shot to make this roster unless Nwaneri or Norman go down with an injury placing one of them on the IR. |

| I would say no. He got smoked in all of the pass rushing drills by the interior lineman. There was also a play where Gerald Sensabaugh blitzed up the middle, punched Miller and then shed him like he was nothing. Not a good sign.
Also, Jordan is probably the worst offensive tackle I have ever seen in my life.

I think he will make it for depth over Miller.

Miller will probably make it onto the PS. He one of those guys you find a way to keep on the team.

| | I really wouldn't be surprised if Drew Miller is the future center for the Jags. With the injury trend that Meester has been following, that could be the near future. Meester is also 31 years old with a lot of wear and tear. I'm really surprised Miller wasn't drafted in the first place, but it worked out for us, and Jack even said he'll make the team. They are also both the same size, and hopefully Meester's work ethic in the weight room will rub off. They are also both very intelligent with great educational backgrounds, a key for that position. I'd say this could work out perfectly for Miller, giving him at least a couple of years to be groomed before Meester retires. |

| Thanks for that input, but this brings up another question:
How much longer does Meester have until he loses his job?

I hope until he can no longer perform. He is one of my favorite players.
By the way, Vic seems to like Drew, for whatever that is worth. He did well during the Oklahomas. |
