Big John (7/30/2008) He won't be a "good" NFL quarterback. At best, he'll have a Cade McNown NFL career. The difference is Tebow is more athletically gifted than McNown and it'll be easier for him to adjust. If Tebow can get on a QB friendly team (Bucs?) with good coaches, he can be taught to improve on his mechanics. Tebow is the West Coast offense? LOL. He is a very gifted player athletically, and has a fire that can't be matched by anyone in college football. He also happened to go to a school with the perfect system for him. I just can't see him as a QB in the NFL.

And can he transform into a NFL QB? Is he the second coming for his fans or the filipinos? Is he really straight? I mean everything seems so perfect in his life. Do you mean perfect like Tom Brady, Payton Manning, Jay-Z, Brad Pitt, and others. Yes, believe it or not some people are fortunate like that. There are many Tim Tebows in this world.

McNown came from a pro-style school, UCLA...It will be much harder for Tebow to adjust to the NFL than it was for McNown (who isn't un-athletic by any means). Adjust his mechanics, not the grasp of the game. Either way, he'll be drafted high and won't turn out to be much in the NFL. Actually, I think he'll have a Vince Young type career. People will hype him because they like "what he's about" and they'll turn a blind eye to his bad QB play. He'll be in the league for a good bit. Heck, he'll probably win ROY on hype alone. John ... can you please make up your mind ? You do realize Tebow is a little smarter than Vince Young don't you? I think you meant to say Steve Young !!!!

| | Seeing Tebow play makes me wonder what Chris Rix would have been like with, half a brain, an ounce of maturity, and decent coaching. Rix had all the tools and athletic ability, but could not grasp the mental part of football that Tebow has mastered.
Matt Jones has the work ethic of a lifelong welfare recipient who is more interested in getting that check than he is in having to work for it.

| He has terrible footwork, terrible mechanics, passes exclusively out of the shotgun, and he's never turned his back to a defense before and had to make a read. All his play actions are out of the shotgun as an option watching the defense. He'd be better served to "Matt Jones" the NFL and enter as a TE/H-Back.
I wouldn't draft him early.

| Dear Tim,
After watching you start 1 season of college football, we at jaguars.com have decided you won't make it in the NFL.

Are you kidding me? Lets see how the next season, at least, pans out before the lovers crown him and the haters bury him.
And btw, as a HUGE UCLA fan, McNown was a great college leader on the field but he had a weak arm for the pros. Somewhat like Saint Danny. The McNown\Tebow comparison doesn't work.

The McNown\Tebow comparison doesn't work.I wasn't comparing their McNown and Tebow's ability because that would be just plain stupid. I was comparing Tebow to a high draft pick that flopped. But then I changed my mind and said that Tebow would pull a Vince Young and get by on media hype.

I wouldn't draft him early. From the staunch supporter of Shack & Leftwich. You just decribed Leftwich and supported Shack drafting him with the 7th pick You contradict yourself more than the chick in Orlando that just killed her 2 year old daughter.
