im not gonna tell people how they should live but it wouldnt kill yall to at the very least skim the main page of firstcoastnews.com and news4jax.com(or whatever website your cities local news is on) every day. dont even have to read any of the articles. but at least skimming the headlines will give ya an idea of whats going on in your town. and if you dont live in jax, then my apologies. anyways the cops have admitted something bad happened to the girl but due to much legal BS havent been able to acquire enough evidence. obviously no one is talking. and the parents of the kid hosting the party were upstairs the whole time and claim to not even know any drinking was going on. yet if they had been responsible in the slightest this could have been avoided. The cops did it??!!! I'd like to say I'm, totally shocked, but given JSO's willingness to shoot just about anyone for any reason, or no reason at all, not to mention run someone over then blame it on them, I'm not all that surprised. In all seriousness, you don't really know if much of anything happened. You just know of the allegation. I suppose some folks think people should be charged every time there is an allegation. And you're bent on that alone, as apparently there is no further evidence a crime was committed at all. Typical rush to judgement. People change their minds real quick when the shoe is on the other foot.

| Ever since the Duke Lacrosse team fiasco, everyone is on the fence about sketchy situations like this. Not that I blame them, I'm fairly doubtful that she's telling the truth as well, but hey, I don't know all the facts.
Either write something worth reading, or do something worth writing.

There is a lot more to the story than has been posted here.
The girl was found passed out and drunk on the beach. When she was "revived" she claimed that she was raped by 5 guys.
1st thing that really sticks out is DRUNK and PASSED OUT.
2nd - I would assume that she went to the hospital and was examined. I'm certainly sure that if she was in fact RAPED by 5 GUYS that there would have been some kind of physical evidence. Apparently there isn't.
Although I don't have all the facts and most of my information is hear say, this sounds like the girl doesn't want to admit she had drunken sex and she now regrets it.

C'mon. how old was she 15-17? mix that naiveness with being drunk? She doesn't remember anything else except being raped? I just don't understand how she is drunk, but can remember the specific number of guys that "raped" her. Something smells fishy.

I don't even know if she lives at the beach, that's just where she was found. My comment was only made based on the evidence (or lack thereof) that we have.
You are right about one thing, she is a child. However, a child back in my day is different from a child nowadays. I suspect (based on what has been reported) that the rape never occurred.

I am somewhat familiar with the story.
The facts have been unclear from the start.
Girl goes to parentally supervised party.
Underaged drinking ensues. Girl gets drunk.
Girl is allegedly raped on the beach by (an) unknown assailant/s from the party.
An investigation is launched.Saw it on the news last night. Girl recanted story and now states she wasn't raped. Father of the girl stated that he'd rather the story not be true and have her daughter be a liar than the alternative of her being raped. Perhaps the police should charge the girl with filing a ficticuos police report.

| | It's a good thing that nobody was implicated as a result of the girl's original story. As it stands now, she did something really stupid, but didn't ruin any other lives as a result. It certainly could have been much worse.

You are right about one thing, she is a child. However, a child back in my day is different from a child nowadays. I suspect (based on what has been reported) that the rape never occurred. I think the state should threaten to press charges, let her sweat for a month or so, then let it be. That fear, and the humiliation she now lives with are punishment enough.
She's a little girl dealing with the rush of horomones we all face. She was found on the beach in a compromising state and made up a story, not realizing the far reaching implications at the time.
