The Mad Dog (7/18/2008) Looks like my 9-7 prediction is in the formulative stages of becoming reality.
Because they only went 11-5 without Porter. But still had Wilford, whose not here now.... Mincey & Porter are already sidelined. This is not the kind of momentum you want to be building as camp approaches. Maybe 9-7 might have to be lowered if this keeps up. Any thoughts on the Colts as they open camp without Manning, Harrison, Freeney and Sanders? They were 12-4 without Harrison, so I don't even care about his recovery or not. The other players you mention don't have a severe hamstring injury, of which can linger for months, if not the season, and are easily re-aggrivated. Sanders, Manning and Freeney will be starting and producing by week 1. I'll bet you that Porter will be a non factor for at least opening week. (because of the injury - if he plays it will essentially be as a decoy.)
Translation:
Porter/Wilford>Factor in Jaguars Success
Manning<Factor in Colts Success.
Awesome

| The Mad Dog (7/18/2008) In the past 2 weeks, we learned we lost Porter & Mincey to serious injuries, and Matt Jones was arrested with possible felony implications.
Is this a good way for a team with "Super Bowl aspirations" to approach training camp?
It's sufficient news to cause you to make a 2nd run to Costco to get another case of Depends. It's going to be a wet summer for the barstool diva.

| | I'm I the only one who noticed that the chiahuahua's 1st mention of his bright idea of keeping Wilford comes after he's already gone? He's not just a second guesser. He's not just a Monday morning QB. He's a fabricator of his own position on things ----in hindsight.

You never said a word about Wilford until after he was already gone. You're a joke.

He's not just a Monday morning QB. He's a fabricator of his own position on things ----in hindsight. I never heard him mention Wilford once. It makes me think that he watched the Jaguars/Steelers replay a few weeks ago and saw Wilford make a couple of catches on third down. It was likely the first time he watched that game. It's not the first time. I remember after ESPN ran the Greatest Game program on the Jags-Denver playoff game, TMD couldn't stop talking about Michael Cheever and how he was a great center. He probably had no idea who he was until that program aired. He probably also didn't realize he was a second round pick who couldn't beat out an average veteran in Widell.

The thing I most remember Wilford in that game was Wilford dropping the ball that hit him between the numbers on 1st Down. It worked out for us, of course, but that was a drop that cost us a TO as well.

| Actually, I've mentioned on several occasions that the Jaguars are going to miss Wilford's contributions, especially on 3rd down, where he was gold last year.
So where exactly is the hindsight, and where is the hypocrisy?
It wasn't like I am coming on here saying from day one I wanted the jags to keep Wilford. I felt if they could upgrade him, then I'd be all for it. Porter is a turd, though. Everyone in the league knows that Porter is a turd. With turds come misfortune like were seeing now with Porter. Had he not gotten hurt, he'd have simply sucked. Either way, Shack still has barely upgraded this WR corps in now, SIX years in trying to do so.
Congratulations to the 2008 WORLD Champions, your Philadelphia Phillies!
