Bon Jagley (7/18/2008)
The Mad Dog (7/18/2008) In the past 2 weeks, we learned we lost Porter & Mincey to serious injuries, and Matt Jones was arrested with possible felony implications.
Is this a good way for a team with "Super Bowl aspirations" to approach training camp?
Matt Jones was going to contribute alot this season too. Before the arrest, how do we know he wouldn't have contributed alot this year? Reggie Williams did very little his previous 3 years prior to his 10 TD year. Same could have happened for Matt, I am sure it would have happened. And I think most people who watched the Jaguars at the beginning of 2006 knew what Williams was capable of.

| Hit squad (7/18/2008)
Deleted it. I replied in AFC South and it ends up here? This forum is as inconsistent as it's team. At least we have a consistent squad in the division. Consistently exiting the playoffs after 12+ win seasons. In 5 of the last 6 years.

| | Given the high DE draft picks, Jeremy Mincey was not going to make the roster...no loss. Given his poor play and WR competition, Matt Jones was likely not to be kept this year...no loss. The Jags loss was solely potential trade value. Jerry Porter would be an absolute loss if he misses games. However, on the flip side, it would be fun to watch Walker get some early reps, along with Williamson. |

Although I agree, the first quarter of the season is an important divisional stretch for the Jags, and it would be nice for them to be at 100%

| The Mad Dog (7/18/2008) It was funny how everyone rushed out to assume that Porter was such a big improvement over Wilford....
I'd rather have a healthy, rather inexpensive Wilford on the Jags right now, rather than a expensive NFL welfare guy, who will be sitting in the press box all season.
Injuries like this won't be fine by mid camp. This will linger all season. It will need probably 6 months of rest to fully heal/ thats if it don't need surgery.
Hugh Douglas Jerry Porter.... It's just a sprained hammy. Someone gets this injury every summer, and they're almost always fine by the time the season begins. They don't require surgery, and they never linger all season long. You're making way too big of a deal out of this. Besides, Jerry can have two sprained ankles, a sprained hammy, one hand tied behind his back, and his shoes tied together...and he'd still outrun Wilford.

| Apparently he tore the hammy, 02 and he's just had surgery. We shall see but I still think we'll be fine even if he's slow to return.

| The Mad Dog (7/18/2008) Remember the year when Fred had the chronic hamstring issues? It was thought to be something minor that would go away. It never did until the next season. This was NEVER the case. You're making stuff up. PROVE IT! Fred missed so much time because of an ankle injury.

| Everyone likes to bag on Wilord's lack of speed. For as slow as he was, he sure knew how to get open, especially on 3rd downs last season.
Congratulations to the 2008 WORLD Champions, your Philadelphia Phillies!
