The Mad Dog (7/22/2008)

What was the date on that post again, nate? Oh thats right BEFORE Peterson's breakout 2005 Jaguars season. Thus, what I said about Peterson at that time was true.

After I saw Peterson elevate his game in the 2005 season, I have credited him for it and since list him in with the other 3 elite Harris acquisitons.

Regarding Odell....who knows what could have been had we drafted him. Maybe he doesn't have the same issues he had in Cinci. Odell certainly exhibited the talent/ production on the Bengals prior to his problems.

But wait chihuahua, you just said you ALWAYS have said Mike P was an elite aq..

Is that on par with what you said after he had played here 2 years?

Or is that your usual revisionist history when it comes to what you hav esaid or what your take was on something?

Next you are going to say you didn't advocate for Randy Starks over Greg Jones.

Before you go and call someone a liar, perhaps you should figure out what the truth is.

Well, you still weren't telling the truth as of current anyway, because I have been referring to Peterson as elite for 3 years now. You tried to make it sound as if currently I am not doing that.

It was so long ago that I said the other that I forgot that yes, there was a time when I felt Peterson was just a "good" player, and at that particular time when I said it, I was right.

Peterson upgraded his play, especially his big play ability in 2005 and when healthy, he's pretty much remained at that elite level since.

Congratulations to the 2008 WORLD Champions, your Philadelphia Phillies!

Very nice nate... Dexter..eerrr I mean TMD will try anything to wiggle and spin his way out of anything he post...

Mike Pete had a better year his last year with the Colts except the sacks... and in 2004 with the Jags he had five less tackles (131-126), one less solo tackles, one less sack but 0 INT's... I don't guess Dexter...eeerrrr TMD would count that as a "good" enough year in 2004 to give Mike Pete props in 2005...

But the spin-master will play his usual self as he tries to back-peddle his way out of this...

So, what you're saying is that despite the fact I told the truth about what you said, that is lying?

What about "COMPLETELY MAKING STUFF UP"?

What about "Now its just outright lying."?

You don't even know what the truth is.  You aren't familiar with the concept.

Integrity is a complete foreign concept.

Just like this from Dexter...eeerrrr I mean TMD...

"I never had Garrard ranked behind Leftwich at any point of 2007."

But read here... and remember he said in another thread that he like Garrard...

Coach Gruden was quoted saying this in St. Pete Times

"There's a good chance there's another guy in town that'll be competing," Gruden told Tuesday's St. Petersburg Times. "We're going to try to make it competitive and that's all I'll say."

This could be where Lefty ends up.  Does make it an interesting deal because the Bucs have a high draft pick and a ton of money to spend.  They have like 6 picks within the first 68 pics I do beleive.  I live in tampa and a lot of Bucs fan beleive Lefty might be here next year.

Oh ya, I am a jags fan not a bucs fan.  Moved to Tampa from Jax.

Gruden was the coach last offseason, that expressed the most interest in obtaining David Garrard, so I'd imagine he'd still have some interest, although James Harris BOTCHED the opportunity for us to get a first day draft pick for Garrard, now. That was his PEAK value, last offseason. Now, we'll be LUCKY to get a 5th in return for him.

These people need to be replaced & upgraded for the Jags to achieve ultimate success:

GM James Harris
OC Carl Smith
QB coach Ken Anderson
ST coach Pete Rodriguez

Better year than what? his 2005 year? Wrong. Mike Pete's 2005 season was his best.

shag52 (7/22/2008)
and in 2004 with the Jags he had five less tackles (131-126), one less solo tackles, one less sack but 0 INT's... I don't guess Dexter...eeerrrr TMD would count that as a "good" enough year in 2004 to give Mike Pete props in 2005...

You know who else wouldn't count that 2004 season as an "elite" one? The voters for the All-pro team. Mike was voted AP in 2005, not 2004. I'd say AP status= "elite".

Theres absolutely nothing to back peddle from. What I said in that quote from 3 years ago was correct.

Its great to know how much power I have over some of these ppl on this board. To the extent that they go to the effort of retaining posts I made years ago.

Anywho, shag 52, that post has little to do with what I felt Garrard "could do" for us in the future.

At the time, the consensus was that JDR was steadfast with sticking with Leftwich for better or for worse.

Thus, with Garrard, seemingly never going to get the chance to be the full time starter as long as Leftwich was around, it was my opinion  that we should try and get a draft pick in return for the asset and use that draft pick to fill other needs on the team.

I initially spoke of that idea following the 2005 season when Garrard's value was high after the 5-1 finish. At the time I compared Garrard's 5-1 finish to what AJ Feeley did in Philly at the end of the 2002 (2003?) season finishing 4-1 for an injured Mcnabb & the Eagles parlaying that finish into a trade of Feeley to Miami for a 2nd round pick.

I did chastize Harris for not following what I felt was good advice there.

As it went Leftwich started the 2006 year, got hurt again, and Garrard played extensively in 2006. Since he had the poor finish in 2006, I felt that any value Garrard built up the previous year was shot. I felt Harris missed an opportunity. Thus that post you saved.

Keep twying shag52....I'm sure if you keep on this vindictive vendetta of yours, you can find something that is legit to nab me on....I mean heck, we already know nate saves posts of mine from 3 years ago....I know you can do better!

It's funny how you think you've got "power" over anything as much as you lie, spin, back-crawl and try to twist your way out of things your money-maker... your mouth gets you into...

Go back and find the post where you said half the bull-sh$t you are saying now... I found (had and still got more) stuff you said about Garrard in 2007 even AFTER you said you had Garrard ranked higer than Leftwich in 2007...

Good try Dexter...eeerrr I mean TMD... but like I told you before... your sh$t might float with some people on here... but both me and you knows it doesn't float on this end no matter how you try to spin it...
