| Wesley was just released by the Chiefs.
Any chance the Jags have any interest? Wesley is 30, and in the very least, I'd rather have him on the team over Pierson Prioleau.
We signed Knight last year as a backup, so whats the matter with bringing in Wesley as a backup? I'd feel more secure with Wesley as the backup than Prioleau or Fudge, I think.
Congratulations to the 2008 WORLD Champions, your Philadelphia Phillies!

| Yes, we'd be far better off bringing in an aging player who ISN'T familiar with the scheme our new defensive coordinator is running to be a backup.

Yeah, that really seemed to hurt Sammy Knight last year, didn't it? Not.

Yeah, that really seemed to hurt Sammy Knight last year, didn't it? Not. Sammy Knight was a liability in the secondary. He did well enough, but he wasn't exactly some world beater. I guess you didn't catch that from your perch high utop the barstool leg #3 in that "sports" bar in Philly.

Do you fear that your football takes aren't strong enough to stand on their own without the added nonsense?
The fact is, I know Knight wasn't "perfect". He wasn't great in pure coverage. But, what he lacked in physical abiltiy, he made up for with brains, effort & saavy. If not for Knight, the Jaguars may well have lost that first Texans game. It was his key forced fumble at the goal line as the Texans were about to take control of that game. Plus, we cannot forget the other 2 INT's that sealed victories late.
Wesley could be that kinda player for the Jags. We could bring him in with the intent to be a backup, ala what we did with Knight last year.....and should the unfortunate happen & we lose either Brian Williams or Florence to injury, we'd have a guy like Wesley that could step in (at Safety) that has lots of vet experience.
How much did we pay for Knight last year? I can't imagine it was all that much.

I throw the other fluff in as an added bonus for the benefit of our little barstool diva. I know it makes you pee yourself a little bit every time I do. Everything you're describing about a guy you know diddly squat about from KC could be the very thing said about a guy that's already on the roster that you're looking to replace because you don't know squat about him either. The big difference is that the guy already on the roster is INTIMATELY familiar with the defense our new coordinator runs, and the other guy apparently wears his pants in a way that gets you a little giddy. That's the great thing about you, whimp. You always convince yourself that you know better. You ripped the team last year for signing Sammy Knight. Careful straddling that fence. You don't want leg #3 getting jealous.

Yeah, as I thought....you aren't confident in your football takes minus the added nonsense.
First of all, Pierson Prioleau may be more familiar with the defense, but what does that mean if a player like Wesley is more talented. Prioleau basically gives you nothing other than a "supposed" knowledge of the system. Look over the course of Prioleau's career - he doesn't record many QB sacks/ INT's/ TFL's or FF's. Wesley, OTOH, has a ton of INT's over his career, and has a decent amount of the other big plays. Sammy Knight didn't need a ton of time to acclimate to the new defensive system in Jax, and in all likelyhood, neither would Wesley. These are seasoned veterans, not newbie rookies were talking about.
All things being = which age is one of them comparing Prioleau & Wesley....Wesley is the superior player of the 2.
BTW, liar, I did not rip the team when they added Knight last year, I applauded the signing. One of the few moves by Harris I thought was smart. I even said when we added Knight that Harris was lucky that no other team nabbed Knight first.

| MadDog, would love to read your breakdown on the differences between Prioleau and Wesley. Also don't forget an ex starter named Sensabaugh in the starter/backup mix. I think the Jags are fine at safety personnelwise with Wiliams making the switch as well, but hey, you are the GM.

I even said when we added Knight that Harris was lucky that no other team nabbed Knight first. I'm pretty good at reading stats. I see statistically that Prioleau has been better in recent history with his production than a guy you know nothing about other than that he's not a guy that the Jags have picked up and he was just released. I know that he is a veteran player that Gregg Williams encouraged the team to pursue because he has HIGH REGARD for his football IQ and his ability to be a solid back up for this team. I know that you wouldn't be able to give any real analysis on the subject because the truth is you don't know squat about either guy. All you know is that your incessant little crush on Shack Harris that has gone unrequited has you reaching for straws now. The fact that you're arguing about a backup shows just how low you've fallen in your desperate need to try to find something to rip Harris over.
You absolutely ripped the team for signing Knight because you felt that he was done, old, and not worth it. Any player that the Jaguars sign is ripped by you...unless he pans out, then suddenly you were all for him from the start, so prove otherwise.
