Teal 'n Black (7/17/2008) Dannell Ellerbe would be a nice grab. He's a physical LB w/ a mean-streak as well as fast. He'll be playing MLB this year since Marcus Washington is out for the year w/ a shoulder injury, but he has played OLB in the past. Nice versatility. Ellerbe, D. Smith and Durant would be a sick LB corp...especially w/ Ingram coming off the bench! It would make sense since both Darryl Smith and Justin Durant were Mikes in college also. But Ellerbe, IMO, would have to be the BAP since I don't see this as a huge need pick, even if Mike Pete is not re-signed. If indeed the Jags are selecting at Pick 32, then Ellerbe should represent good value. If the Jags are selecting at Pick 25 or 26, then there should be other players available that would offer greater value than Ellerbe. |

Rd 3(96): Bear Pascoe - TE - Fresno State - 6'5" 260 Lbs 4.79/40 Jags take a No. 2 TE that excels with inline blocking and catches the ball well in the short to intermediate zone. I saw a couple of their games last season and he is an impressive player. He may end up going sooner if he has a good year.

| | I used to use that avatar jaxonjag. i keep reading your posts and seeing the avatar out of the corner of the eye and for a split second thinking that was my post. anyways.... I agree about DE potentially being a position to keep an eye on. Harvey and Groves are essentially unknowns. Spicer is old. Hayward may never be his self. the rest of the guys are just guys. and as we learned last year, you can never have enough pass rushers. Ill throw out a mock. 1) Ciron Black - OT - LSU. leaves early. was a freshman allamerican at the position in 06. has the size you covet at the position. with the uncertainy of Barnes and the lack of experience of Collier, this pick matches need and value. 2)DJ Moore - CB - Vandy. also leaves early. one of the better overall athletes in the SEC. came on late in high school which is why the big schools missed him. very productive at CB. also returned kicks and played a little offense. 3)Shawn Nelson - TE - Southern Miss. ive mentioned him before. very athletic TE. runs like a WR. if he was a little bigger and a better blocker he'd be a 2nd rounder at worst. doesnt have great stats but Southern Miss has lacked good QB play. 4)Chip Vaughn - SS - Wake Forest. productive tackler who is always good at going after the ball in the air. 5)Brett Helms - C - LSU. experienced player. has played guard and center. versatile interior lineman which can always be found on the 2nd day of the draft. 6)Mitch King - DE - Iowa. first team all big 10 last year. always looking for the next kampmann.

You must have really good taste. I really agree with you that we go with an OL in the first round as well. I also like the idea of looking at TEs early in the draft. We also need to consider a RB. I thought Kevin Smith would have been a strong consideration this year if we hadn't traded away all our 3rd Rd picks. |

I would be very surprised if Ciron Black makes it past Pick 20 and I think there is no way that he falls to the end of Rd 1 specifically Pick 32. The Jags would defintely have to move up to draft Ciron Black. Given how far the Ravens moved up with just a Rd 3 pick, the Jags might be able to trade away their Rd 3 pick to move up and grab this guy. Of course my favorite OLT in this draft is Eugene Monroe, but he is quite possibly a Top 10 selection. |

| in my opinion, its time to address the o-line. while they're still playing well right now, they're starting to get old and were going to need some guys who can become elite players in the near future. i dont know if anyones sure how good nwaneri's going to be...he's definately got some potential. what concerns me is the drop off we had at center when meester was out last season...he's not too young either. on top of that, mo williams is getting older too. i just think it would be a wise choice to take an OL in the first or second round next year to solidify it.

my second favorite kicker! | |
