| GunnersMom (7/11/2008) It never was "my team", and only his when Matt startedNever did I say we quit the Jags. We were fans before MJ. Oh, assumptions of a whole state is okay, but not a generalization of Blondes? That is as old as the Hillbilly Jokes. But the blonde ones are true. Contradict much? BTW, check on the is/are usage thing. Something seems amiss. I am not using spell check Trust me...we know. I used spell check Wait...you just said....oh never mind. And my son's name, Dork, is Gunner (after Gunnar Nelson of the Nelson Twins) If that is who you named him after, do you realize you misspelled your own son's name? Or do you not know how to spell the person's name you named your son after? Maybe the person you named your son after doesn't know how to spell his own name? I'm getting a headache. Gunner was suspended from school for 5 days for breaking a boy's nose just for pushing him. if someone throws a punch at you, defend yourself. Hmmm.... My IQ is 144. His is higher. Yet he doesn't know the difference between a push and a punch? You came here bragging about your I.Q., what a bad arse your son is, and how the entire fan base was picking on poor little Matt Jones for doing something incredibly stupid. Now you don't know why you're (conjunction of you/are, btw) getting flamed? Wow. I doubt you have AN I.Q. of 145. I know some very intelligent people, and I are one myself (that's called sarcasm, darlin'). Your mastery of grammar, sentence structure, paragraphs, punctuation, spelling, and the english language in general leaves a lot to be desired. Either your I.Q. is lower than that, or my friends and I are a lot smarter than I thought. If you want to keep posting, please do. It's the dead zone, and your posts are very entertaining. But, be warned: you will probably incite more Arkansas bashing. It really doesn't bother me, and I was born and raised here. The way I see it, when someone stereo types an entire group of people (as you have many times...then bashed other people for it), they are showing their own lack of intelligence. Also, it's just an internet message board. Nobody takes it seriously. Wait...I guess you did. Since I am replying, I guess I did. Now you've done gone and caused a paradox. GREAT! Now the internet is gonna 'splode! Thanks a lot, lady!!

| FBT (7/15/2008) Good God! She actually admitted to naming her child after one of the Nelson twins! This stuff simply can't be made up! Classic!
I was actually writing a Nelson joke in one of my earlier posts before she dropped this gem. But, couldn't make it actually funny and didn't think anyone would get my crap music reference, so I scrapped it.
True story.
If only I had written it, I would be like the guy who asked if Leftwich might get cut right before he did.
I would be my own hero.

Hey Bjorn, did you pick up this little nugget?
GunnersMom Oh, assumptions of a whole state is okay, but not a generalization of Blondes? That is as old as the Hillbilly Jokes. But the blonde ones are true.
So it's not OK to generalize about the population of a state, but it is OK to generalize about what is probably 10-15% of the entire population of the planet.
Man, you can't make this stuff up.
My wife is one hot blonde too...who's a year away from getting her Ph.D. Do I need to throw in her I.Q. score as well to shatter this mom's perceived stereotype?
Probably doesn't matter anyways. When you name your son after one of the Nelson twins and act proud of it and the fact that he gets into fights like momma taught him, I get the feeling that a few contradictions might not faze her.
Now, let me make something abundantly clear here.
I am not saying that I may never name an offspring of mine after a horrible 80's pop-rock/glam band. I have done dumber things before, and I have this (what my psychiatrist refers to as unhealthy) thing for Lita Ford, but that's beside the point.
That being said, I can guarantee you, with every bit of certainty that I have, that I would never, ever admit said gaffe to anyone. Much less after I posted that my spouse is/was an ice-head, my child has anger/violence issues, and have given my own IQ score that I probably got from doing the "relationship quiz" on page 68 of this past May's Cosmopolitan.
But that's just me, I'm silly like that.
Go heavy early.
You do not maintain perfection, you work for it everyday.

| BJORN TOURAQUE (7/16/2008) I need another fix! Where has she gone?Maybe if you start humming a Nelson tune, it will be like an audible bat signal and she'll return. Unfortunately, Nelson isn't part of my musical catalog, so you're on your own.

Either write something worth reading, or do something worth writing.

| continuous (7/16/2008) page 41....yeah
Yeah.. Almost one full week since the thread was started.. I don't even think it is about Matt Jones anymore..
Matt Jones has the work ethic of a lifelong welfare recipient who is more interested in getting that check than he is in having to work for it.

| | Okay Dork, I'm here. More entertainment. I haven't been on in a while because I have been working. And getting some sleep. I only check this every few days. It has become rather amusing, even to me. I didn't misspell my child's name. I know that Nelson's is spelled Gunnar. I chose not to spell it that way. I wasn't a big fan, they were horrible. But I liked the name. I wanted a boy with blonde hair like that. I am Cherokee and very dark haired, and brown-eyed. I wanted him to have blonde hair and brown eyes. I got it. I don't tell my children to beat people up. I try to teach them how to stay out of one first of all. Not to start one, but don't back down. If someone hits you are you gonna let them beat the crap outta you? Just because he is smart doesn't mean he is a wimp. He hates violence. He saw too much of it at home with his dad and when I got my kids and got out of there we have had a very peaceful household. The jabs about that are way out of line. I wouldn't wish that on anyone and it is very immature to make fun of someone who had no control over what another person did. It was a learning experience of what NOT to be. I didn't explain the whole reason of the fight and why a push led to a punch. As I said, the kid had been harassing a lot of kids. He was new. Our Boy Scout camp opened up for refugees from the hurricane victims of TX and LA. He was a kid out of place and not sure how to act. Maybe he was scared and wanted to let everyone know he wasn't someone to be messed with. Well, our school is small and all the kids have been in school together from K-12. They are good kids and very accepting of new people. The new kid had beat up a couple of other kids and nothing was done to him. When he started in with my son I told him to tell the bus driver and the teacher. He did, twice. Nothing was said or done. My son got out of class, got his book bag and took off down the hall for his next class. The new kid came up from behind him and pushed him. Gunner asked him to stop. He ran by and popped Gunner on the back of the head, ran behind him again and pushed him in the back again. Gunner turned around and clocked him. He didn't intend to do that much damage. But it was witnessed and finally the kid got the punishment he had coming. It was the school's fault for not doing something when the other kids are telling, what they are supposed to do. Gunner's punishment was swats or suspension. I wouldn't let them give him swats because of the situation so he took a suspension. There, there is something for you to play with Dork. I'm kinda getting a kick out of you! Oh, and that comment about being your own hero? I think you already are. |
