| goMOJOgo (7/9/2008) Wasn't it shown by Jackhammer that the group named in the article is the group helping the Jags find a naming rights Sponsor? And with this Dean guy denying rumor of trying to buy the team, maybe they are in fact negotiating stadium naming rights, and thats why this group has confirmed the 2 sides are talking. Sounds more like the media jumping to conclusions. They are right about Weaver and this guy talking, they are just wrong about WHAT they are talking about. That page was over a year old, if that's what sparked this rumor.......wouldn't it be a rumor reported on last year? Again I hope this rumor isn't true, but I also highly doubt that was the source of it.

| goMOJOgo (7/9/2008) But didn't the Sonics have a hard time selling tickets and filling the seats? or am I wrong in that assumption? What I'm trying to say is that in 5 years, this team will have a waiting list, and will even be able to raise tickets a bit more, which will keep this team here if its money Weaver is looking for.
The Sonics situation was different. Their arena is falling apart and the city would not commit to a new arena in the current economy. Apparently OKC has a new building, the owners are from there so they are taking the team to a better facility. We have a great facility, and we do sell tickets. Unfortunately for us, newer stadiums are coming with fans willing to pay crazy PSL fees. With the LA market wide open, our teams stock immediately goes up for a prospective buyer to purchase and relocate, if they can get a stadium built in LA. The NFL and NBA are both terrible when it comes to screwing over fan bases. I can not count how many NBA moves have occured recently. The NFL is starting to catch up. In my lifetime, only two MLB franchises moved. Washington to Dallas back in 1973, and recently the Montreal Expos went to DC. In both cases the moves really made sense because neither team was drawing fan support, and they were both final straws. MLB is loyal to cities. Miami is trying to drive the Marlins away!, yet Jeffry Loria is willing to continue to negotiate with various parts of South Florida. The Pirates could have moved a few years ago, yet they were willing to build a small stadium and remain in a shrinking city that really is football only because they knew there were people who still cared. Baseball will always be my favorite sport.

It was posted by Cush, who probably got it from this board...doesn't mention anything new.
I'm sure Vic will get plenty of emails about this, hopefully he can throw some water on this fire before it burns out of control. Hopefully we will hear something from the FO regarding these rumors.

| Been there. Done that. I would hope that no team ever moves again. For the sake of you Jags fans I hope that this never happens to Y'all. I would be happy if the Jags stayed in Jacksonville forever. Ofcours I would also hope that the Texans win the Superbowl before the Jags do.

| Mightymost (7/9/2008) If Wayne Weaver is so strapped for cash and wants to sell this team, he should sell it to the fans, or the city, or someone who will ensure the team stays where it belongs. Otherwise he might want to pack up and move with the team because if he did something like that he would soon become the most hated person in this city. This form of ownership is not permitted. The league put measures in place to prevent that, leaving Green Bay as the only team owned by the fans.

PSL's?
Nope.
Desperate need for a new stadium.
What generally makes an NFL franchise move?
