I am getting so sick of all the talk about us losing our Jags...

I hate to think about all the fans, espicially the younger Jag fans, that are going to be left with nothing if the team moves, especially after we have all made such a huge emotional investment in this team.

If they want to build tradition keep the team in Jax, thats a no brainer...

But no, its always about the money, so LA gets another shot at losing a football team and we all lose out on the one thing we truly love.

If Wayne Weaver is so strapped for cash and wants to sell this team, he should sell it to the fans, or the city, or someone who will ensure the team stays where it belongs. Otherwise he might want to pack up and move with the team because if he did something like that he would soon become the most hated person in this city.

Sorry... What I meant to say was:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things that I cannot change,

The courage to change the things I can,

And the wisdom to know the difference.

If a team does in fact eventually move to LA what is the soonest that team could even move to LA? I was under the impression a team would not be able to move there for atleast another 5 years. Is this true?

I believe he can pretty much sell the team whenever he wants to. The last deal was a few years ago and really only locked him in for three years. So he's good to go now.

This rumor sounds false since the guy reportedly buying the team is flat out denying it. But I too don't like the increasing pace of such rumors. I'd feel much more comfortable if the team manages to sell the naming rights to the stadium. If they can't even do that, I wouldn't blame Weaver for selling.

We should all be worried. Its a down economy and the recent dealings of the NBA Sonics tell you that money talks in this day and age. We all know this team has struggled with profits and maybe season ticket sales behind the scenes is motivating Wayne Weaver. Remember the new owner of the Sonics lied and maneuvered the team into moving to OKC!

I myself would be heartbroken and probably never watch football again, that is after Fred retired....I hope that Weaver has a little bit of compassion for this fanbase and city and all these reports are false. But it may be that the process is beginning. This team could finish out its lease with the city and move after next season. That fact scares me if they were to duplicate a lease buy-out as it happened in Seattle. Please be untrue!

I am offically a Mike Walker fan. I received my bandwagon tickets after the Houston game. Sorry to everyone I debated with about Walker. He is the real deal.

....and also be committed to winning, like Eddie DeBartolo Jr. who recently was rumored to have interest in purchasing the Jags.

Congratulations to the 2008 WORLD Champions, your Philadelphia Phillies!

There is no stadium in LA. There is no stadium being built in LA.

If these rumors are true and if this goes down and this guy's intentions is to move the team to a larger market (LA).

This is how it'll will go down.........C. Dean Metropoulos will notify the Commissioner of his plans, the Commissioner will give him a time table to come up with a legit proposal plan for moving the team to L.A.

Then C. Dean Metropoulos will meat with LA leaders and if they can agree on a stadium deal, Mr. Metropoulos will then take all the information back to the Commissioner. Then there will be a meeting where every NFL owner has to vote on the topic.......where it'll will pass in a landslide (a team in LA = more dollars for every owner).

After all that happens, they can break ground and have a stadium up in no time.....it'll take 2 seasons MAX to get all that done. During that time, the team could just play out their last days in Jacksonville or some college stadium in LA.

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but wouldn't it be a whole lot easier if people just bought tickets to the games?

The problem is selling tickets and naming rights, which has been a constant struggle. I'm sure the fans would gladly pony up a cool billion to buy the team though.............................................well, maybe not.

I know of you don't like the Colts fans that hang out here, but for what its worth, I actually hope the Jags stay in Jax.  Lord knows there have been many rumors over the years of the Colts moving from Indy and it always made us sick,  mainly because we knew it could really happen if attendance didn't pick up.  Heck even with the new stadium, nothing is a guarrantee.  The team cannot be good forever and who is to say in 8-10 years or so, after Manning is gone, they couldn't be in the same spot.    It wouldn't be the same with the Jags in LA.  Plus in general I hate LA teams across the sports spectrum and love the fact that they have no current NFL team.
