Hicken had a good point - WW is 73 years old and his kids have expressed no interest in keeping the team in the family. It will be sold at some point in the not too distant future. Can only hope new owners want to keep it here.Odd. Every interview and quote I've ever read was that Weaver wants to keep the team here and pass it along as a family dynasty type thing. This could have changed but that is what is said in everything I've read from Weavers mouth for years.

If this team gets sold and moves town I will never watch another professional football game for the rest of my life.Amen to that! If the team leaves there is no NFL in my life ever!! This town will never get another crack at the NFL again. It will be one of the saddest days of my life...

While I feel like there may be more smoke to this particular story than fire, one thing is absolutely certain. The team will eventually be playing somewhere else. The business realities dictate it. The same could be said for several other smaller market teams too. Nevertheless, I've decided to stop worrying about things I can't control and just enjoy the NFL while it's here. Relax! We've a great season in store for us this year.

I don't think this is true at all. If this team stays here for another 5 years, there is nothing but winning in its future in each of those years as this team is built to sustain a long run at things. Also, this fanbase is getting larger each year, and as young people become the age to be able to afford tickets, that will further solidify this team's future here. People overlook the fact that this team selling out its enormous stadium is already a great accomplishment. Ticket prices going up and the sales being ahead of last year support this theory. If this team can get a naming rights that would give them 4 or 5 million per year atleast, that would almost certainly keep this team here for good. |

| weren't there also reports coming out of philly in us being interested in sheppard and dan patrick saying we wanted favre? this seems like another way to spice up the dead zone. weaver has spoken out too much about not moving/selling the team.

| I think it's ironic this rumor comes out that WW is selling at the same time the big ticket push begins. Maybe this is some marketing genius of a plan to get people to buy tickets now. I know, but still you can still choose to believe it if it helps you deal.
