| | Are things just being made up now? According to TU http://news.jacksonville.com/justin/2008/07/09/report-weaver-trying-to-sell-jaguars/ "Metropoulos, according to the report, is interested in a 100 percent purchase of the Jaguars, though unnamed sources told the paper he would keep Weaver on for two years while he learns how to operate an NFL franchise. The sources told the newspaper that Metropoulos would bring in minority partners with him, and that the Jaguars would be a candidate to move to Los Angeles, which is seeking an NFL team." TU says they are quoting the Philadelphia Daily News, but the original article DOES NOT mention this information. So, how can TU be quoting info from Philly that Philly didn't print?

| Theres no lack of support for the Jags in Jacksonville. This is only the perception because of all the Tony Korhieser's in the Media. The city hasn't even had a full generation brought up on Jag football graduate high school yet! Big mistake I hope that this is untrue. However, selling a portion to a non-agressive investor/ minority owner to relieve team debt isn't a bad Idea. Blackouts with 65,000 tickets sold was a result of the Good ole Gator bowl having to host its game in the stadium. 81,000 seats for one of the smallest markets was a result of NFL wishful thinking. Jags should stay in Jax. L.A. has had 3 chances at the NFL and blew them all. Why would it be any different now?

| More info...
link
"Kouvaris also pointed out the major deference between selling a team and moving a team. He said Metropoulos is NOT affiliated with anyone in the Los Angeles area, which has expressed a desire to have a football team."
"When reached Sunday night, Jaguars officials said Weaver was traveling and that the team owner would address the issue on Thursday when he returned to Jacksonville."
I wonder why they mention Weaver was contacted Sunday night? Didn't this just hit the stands today?

"Posted: Wednesday, July 9th, 2008 at 8:43 pm Team spokesman Ryan Robinson said Weaver was traveling on Wednesday and wouldn’t be available until today." Okay, ..I know it's Thursday now but, not when that was posted. It's all nonsense!

| If we are in jeopardy then so is KC, Buffalo, New Orleans, Carolina, Tennessee, Green Bay.
Why? They are all small market teams.
Question: After LA is filled, what big market is left?
Answer: None.
Why is it that this Jacksonville franchise is the ONLY team in danger of moving, according to the media? Official attendance records?
What makes Buffalo less succesuptable than us? Nothing.
New Orleans? Katrina. That public sympathy won't last forever.
Carolina and Tennessee? PSL's. Those won't last forever. Eventually, the empty seat cost will outweigh the cost of the original PSL.
Green Bay? City taxes won't support it for another 20 year loser.
Stop crapping your pants, people!

| allhaildelrio (7/10/2008) I have a source with some inside connections who stated that Wayne was for sure shopping the team and had an interested buyer a few weeks ago. I thought nothing of it because of his recent track record but now it is coming out in the national media.
That same source predicted the following:
Jimmy Smith retirement: True Shack was fired: False Byron was bankrupt: False Someone on the team was busted for coke, and the finger was pointing a Reggie W: False
Hopefully he goes 1 for 5 and I can continue to tell him he does not know what he is talking about.
So, you know nothing.
Thanks for confirming what I already knew.

Stop crapping your pants, people! The logic behind your post is ridiculous for so many reasons.
Anyway, we all know that 13 years is plenty of time for us to prove we deserve this team and we haven't done it. I can't blame Weaver one bit for wanting to sell the team. If anything, he had every reason to sell it years ago and we're lucky we've gotten as long as we have with this team. We can't sellout. We can't even get a sponsor, which is completely sad. The owners of every team have a big influence on a team moving, because they will all get more money, so you know they will encourage a move in every way. Anybody, who is relying on this potential buyer having know ties to LA is an . He has no ties to Jax either! If you had no tie to either but were a billionaire who had to pick one, which would it be? Any person who whines about any of this rumor and does NOT have season tickets should be punched in the face. Also, NO, and I repeat, NO other stories about the sale and move of the team have EVER had this much detail. So nobody should be blowing this story off. I've got so much more, but I'm tired. Rant over! |

| man if they get sold imma be so pissed! i just got my tickets ,i would never of bought them had i known it was possible for the team to get sold!
i can only guess in this case all refund demands will be refused if a deal does happen!
and if it does happen i hope weaver cant step foot in a resturaunt without having to check his food for surprises!
i thank the Mr.weaver for bringing a home team, but if a deal goes down that, love will turn to hate!

LET IT BE KNOWN...WE CAME TO OWN!! | |
