| | You know, everyone keeps poo poo'ing these reports, but each one seems to get a little more in detail. How far off can this be in reality? Could they really just make up a random situation where Weaver is in discussions if he really wasn't? I'm starting to get a little more worried than usual. |

| Posted by Mike Florio on July 9, 2008, 5:39 p.m. With one of the oldest NFL franchises possibly being sold in large part to a billionaire with a four-syllabled last name, another billionaire with quadrisyllabic surname could be buying one of the newest NFL franchises. According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Jacksonville Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver is negotiating with C. Dean Metropoulos regarding a sale of the 13-year-old franchise. Metropoulos is the former CEO and chairman of Pinnacle Foods, which he sold last year for more than $2 billion. However, he denies the report. “I must tell you I haven’t had any such discussions,” Metropoulos told the Daily News. ”I wouldn’t know how to give you any credibility to that because I don’t know anything about it.” But the Daily News cites “several credible league sources” in support of the disclosure. Since Metropoulos has no apparent ties to Jacksonville, there’s a chance that a purchase of the team could result in a move of the franchise to Los Angeles.

| So who are you gonna believe? Unnamed sources, or the guy that's supposedly negotiating with Weaver?

| | Well I hope your right man. I hate these rumors too and usually dispell them as well, but when they say Weaver is not just discussing selling the team, but that he's actually close to a sell, that makes me worry a little bit more. Even the media doesn't make that much stuff up, if someone was close to a sell, they would have to be more than 100% that discussions have atleast gone on, and if discussions have gone on... well, you know, thats not a good sign. |

| | Our best hope is if the Rams sell and move quickly to LA. It's kind of hard to be a fan when you always think they are going to leave.. |
