| Interesting snippet from Gene Wojciechowski over at ESPN on the will-he-won't-he Brett Favre return:
The only NFL quarterbacks better than Favre right now are:
Tom Brady. Peyton Manning. And, uh ...
See what I mean? There are 32 teams, and Brady and Manning are the only two QBs you can absolutely, positively say are superior to Favre. And just to be polite, I'll add Ben Roethlisberger, Carson Palmer, Donovan McNabb, Matt Hasselbeck, Drew Brees and David Garrard to the mix.
That's eight. Maybe.
It's nice (and a little surprising) to see the mainstream media listing David Garrard up at the possibly-better-than-Favre level. |

Favre in his prime? Not even close.
Favre now? Probably.
Hell, Manning and Brady wouldn't have played as well as Favre did in his prime playing in that era.

Probably. Hell, Manning and Brady wouldn't have played as well as Favre did in his prime playing in that era. That's a weird situation. I'm confident that Brady and Manning would still succeed. They probably wouldn't have the same high numbers that they do now; I believe it's safer to say that Favre would have redunkulous numbers if his entire career (18 / 19 years? ) was played in the passing-friendly rules that dominate the game today.

| | Oh, the article's definitely about Favre now rather than at his prime. That said, he had a very good season last year - IIRC Football Outsiders' ratings put him as the third best QB in the league last year, and most other metrics put him up there as well. |

| Do the moderators read things before moving them? This thread is about the media recognition of David Garrard as one of the top QBs in the league, even when comparing to great QBs. Last time I checked, he played for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jeez, seriously. I was looking all around for it before I realize they moved it. C'mon mods, bring it back.

Don't expect them to move it back, with the exception of one (MAYBE 2) of the mods they have an inability to admit they're wrong. Hurts their pride, you see.
