quinn gray knows our offence and performed at a high level during a 3 game road trip last year and went 2-1. Y not bring him back and let him and lemon battle for the number 2 spot? hes unemployed at the moment, i doubt he would decline, plus hes better than the bums we have at third string anyways.

Quinn Gray was a cancer in the locker room who truly believed that he was a starting caliber QB in the NFL.  He put very little effort into his conditioning, and he spent the bulk of his time trying to undermine the starting QB because he wanted the job.  Yes, let's bring him back.

The fact that he's still unemployed should tell you all that you need to know about the value of Quinn Gray.  The team made no effort to keep him around beyond a minimum wage offer.  They were ready to move on.  You should too.

forget the stats. After Garrard went down we were in survival mode. Gray stepped up and went 2-1 on the road. If we lose those games theres no telling how our season ends, and the loss in N.O. was not his fault, our defense got shredded that game. Im not saying hes an all-star, im saying i would take Gray over Lemon any day.

Bingo.

Congratulations to the 2008 WORLD Champions, your Philadelphia Phillies!

Did Gray go 2-1?  Or did the Jaguars go 2-1?

How much of it had to do with Gray?

Are we out of ideas for Matt Jones threads?  How soon is July 26th?  I'd love a fat tub of a locker room cancer to be our backup QB.  Wouldn't you?

No, I would not like Leftwich to be our backup QB...

Bingo.

If the loss to N.O. was not his fault, then the Jags won the other two games in spite of Gray.

Let's not forget the pick 6 that pretty much closed it out.

He also threw 2 other picks in that game.

And that, frankly, defines much of Quinn Gray and validates most of what many have said about him all along.

The JAGUARS stepped up and went 2-1 on the road.  Gray was fortunate enough to avoid screwing up and costing the team during that stretch.  You're giving him far too much of the credit in the wins.

You do understand that all of the garbage talk about Lemon disappeared once the team started winding down OTAs, right?  The coaching staff was speaking very highly of the progress he had made in adjusting to a brand new system for him.  It's people like you that have this notion that a player should be signed and immediately have some impact on the field or he's a bust.  Ever heard of patience?  Try a little and let's see how he does in training camp.  It's not expected that he is the next Dan Marino.  All he has to do here is not screw up.  The team is good enough to win regardless of who's under center as long as they're not making mistakes out there, and Lemon should be just fine in that department.

You can certainly pine away for a cancer like Gray, but the team has a financial commitment to Lemon.  He's not going anywhere.  So, rather than look for ways to replace a guy that hasn't been asked to do diddly squat for the team yet, maybe you could sit on your hands and wait a little while to see how he develops?  I know, it's a novel approach to have a little patience.

In the Tampa game, we ran the ball 24 times in the 1st half.

We threw it 6.

Of those 6, 1 or 2 almost got picked, and another went a whopping 3 yards in the air on a shovel type pass to Mo Drew.

There's a show of trust.

Of course being totally unprepared for the Indy game led to that.

if we were so worried about him being a cancer why would we bring in Jerry Porter whose been a polyp in the colon of the Raiders for years?

In a word, CHEMISTRY.  To be more precise, team chemistry.  It's the same reason Byron was let go, he could not accept being a back-up.  Cleo has solid ability and excellent potential.  He let plays get away from him when he tried to do too much.  Hmm, sounds like another QB on our roster.  Why not let the guy settle in before you show him the door?

Too bad the price of experience is getting old!

This is a solid counterpoint.

I hope you are right.

I was just one that thought Gray's potential was through the roof.
