Says he didnt know any better and used it for healing purposes.

Steelers of the 70s have been linked for years with steroids.  and basically bringing the steroid culture to the NFL.  Rooney has denied for a long time that it was encouraged by Noll or any of the staff, which goes against the claims of some ex-players.

I wonder as time moves on if we'll learn more and more about the truth.

This just in... Fire has been invented.

How is this news. Does anyone think the NFL banned steroids because nobody in the league was using them.

Not a jab at you. Just some of the articles I read that are treating the fact that the steelers using steroids is new information.

How dare they use something that was legal.

Exactly.  There was nothing wrong with what Terry Bradshaw did.  There was no steroids policy back then.  They were legal.  So even if the Steelers did use them they broke no rules.  They just found them first.  I guarantee you other teams had used them.  It's not like they "Just misinterpreted the rules" and " Had no idea that they were breaking the rules"

Andro was legal under MLB when Mark McGwire took it but that didnt stop people from crucifying him for it.

These guys are paid millions to play their game at the best level they can. If I was a professional athlete you can guarantee I would use every legal means possible to have as much of an edge in my corner.

I would also hire a dependable trainer who wouldn't give me untested treatments from countries without drug laws. I think some of these athletes get into trouble becuase they don't always research what goes into their bodies.

Ive just always been surprised by how outraged fans get when learning about steroids in baseball but seem to turn a blind eye regarding football.  is it because as fans we love football too much?  is it a lot easier to see the effects of performance enhancing drugs in baseball with all these hallowed records being broken?  Again, McGwire was BLASTED for taking Andro but it was legal.  MLB did not have rules against it.  so why the big difference?

Did anyone else see Vics response to Bradshaw?  he said there was a naivete about steroids back then.  what a bunch of BS.  steroids had been banned by the Olympics a decade earlier.  So athletes worldwide in third world countries knew the effects steroids could have on their performance but professional football players in America didnt?  Please.
