The Dierdorf Dierdork meter of nice things said about the Jaguars still sits at zero.

Shocking!

Fixed that for ya. I love that game, that was so much fun! Knowing all we had to do was beat the faiders and we were going to the playoffs.

Here are some thoughts I had after re-watching that game.

  • Justin Durant is going to be an All Pro linebacker. He was by far the fastest person on the front seven of either team and is a vicious hitter.
  • The Steelers o-line was terrible and is only worse in 2008 after losing Faneca. I am looking forward to seeing Harvey, Groves, Spicer and company keep Big Ben on his back again.
  • Northcutt is better than people give him credit for. He is a perfect slot receiver.
  • I think I forgot how difficult it is for teams to tackle Taylor and Jones-Drew. They were terrific.
  • The only thing that really bothered me was that it seemed the Steelers were only able to stay in the game because the Jaguars got away from their gameplan that was working. Same thing happened in the playoffs.

Jaguars > Steelers.

We have won 3 in a row at Heinz Field.

..and four in a row overall.

..Also, including the wild card game last year, our ALL TIME record vs. them is 12-8

  Watch your step.

yea with Faneca gone the Jags should have no problem against Big Ben... 47 sacks in 07 I'm thinking close to 67 in 08.... it was a great game but I cringed when they threw near Knight it's a good thing we added florence and have Bwill back there now and Harvey and Groves should have fun putting Ben on his back!!!

the one question I have from that game is... did Heath Miller get that 1st down at the end of the game? I feel he came up short by a little bit but all my friends who know I'm a Jag fan all say to me "you KNOW Miller got that 1st down!" and I say "it was a good effort but he came up just short and the ball popped loose" and they say yea the steelers got screwed.... but even if they got that 1st down it's no guarentee they would have scored and even still it would only force overtime (which we would have won...) they also say that the refs screwed the Steelers out of the win but ONE!!! bad call can't decide the entire game... several questionable calls like the 2nd colts game or the steelers playoff game can decide it but 1 call .... NO! you can't complain about 1 call since it's your fault for getting into that situation in the first place...

but really did he get the 1st? I think not.....

Reggie Williams + David Garrard = 10 TD's!

Everyone see Williams bounce off Willie Parker early in the game when he had a clean shot on him?

That's what I'm talking about.

Del Rio was right!

Dan Dierdorf is usually effusive in his praise of the Jaguars, when warranted.
