maize n blue (6/23/2008) 1) Nic Harris Safety, Oklahoma6'3" 226lbs. 4.55/40 - Lacks the top-end speed to play FS in the NFL, but has very good size and fluidity and covers very well.
2)Phil Loadholt OT, Oklahoma 6'8" 346lbs.5.38/40 - Massive OT that has the feet to play OLT. Similar to 2008 draftee Jeff Otah.
3) Cornelius Ingram TE, Florida6'4" 232lbs.4.68/40 - Quick twitch TE/ WR hybrid. Works seam routes well and has good overall hands and athleticism.
4) Rudy Carpenter QB, ASU 6'2" 220lbs.4.89/40 - Young Developmental QB with a real chance to start down the road. Has the experience and physical tools to start in the NFL. Previously coached by Koetter.
5) Jason Phillips LB, TCU6'1"235lbs. 4.59/40 - Smallish, athletic LB with excellent production. Has 231 career tackles heading into his Senior season.
6) Ryan McDonald C, Illinois 6'4" 298lbs. 5.2/40 - Developmental OL with good size and experience. Will have time to develop behind Meester.
Rudy Carpenter is sick. I would love for the jags to get him.
Nice quote

| i still think DT will be picked between rounds 1-3 unless tony mcdaniel and kimmy kennedy explode
Rashean the I-N-T Machine Mathis- best CB in the game
TMD's "predictions" so far for 08 season:
-Minnesota and Philly in the NFC championship game with Minnesota in the Superbowl
-Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game
-Houston a top 5 rushing team in the 09 season
-Houston seeded higher in the playoffs than the jags
- jags finishing 9-7 at best
- Browns finish better than the Jags
-Jags finish last in the AFC South after a bad showing in the preseason
TMD and I have a bet for $100 on the Jags wins
-Denver winning the AFC West LOL
-Bengals over Jags 24-21

| | 1. Jamon Meredith - OT - South Carolina. will finish his career having started at LT for 2.5 years. would like to see him add on about 20 pounds. 2. Michael Hamlin - S - Clemson. playmaker who is around the ball. lots of takeaways. 3. Peria Jerry - DT - Ole Miss. Ive seen this guy bouncing around a lot of mocks so i figured id put him near the middle in the 3rd round. 4. John Phillips - TE - Virginia. the Hoos have been producing a lot of TEs of late. Phillips is supposed to be the most athletic since Heath Miller. not as good as him though. but has good size. used mostly as a blocker last year but was used in a 3 man rotation. will be the man at the position this year. 5. Brett Helms - C/G - LSU. as played mostly center. but a good player who can play guard. will provide depth. 6. Stephen McGee - QB - TexasA&M. good passing QB in high school but A&M's offense doesnt let him utilize his talents. kinda hard to get a judge on how good a passer he can be. but thats what 6th round picks are for.

| | I really wouldn't be suprised to see them draft DT or OT first round. I think they'll be so high up in the draft order they'll shop around for some guy at either or both positions that will be a "value award" candidate. They traded up for Harvey abd Groves but there were some "sleeper" guys who were drafted by other teams rounds 2 and 3 who could have worked out if they'd stayed at pick 26 first round at DE. I'm not anticipating they'll trade up to get say Tyson Jackson for a DT or somebody highly touted like him going into next season, granted of course that all pans out. I think maybe they'll be very selective by second round in shopping for a real value bargain. I'd agree with the other positions because they ducked a free agent bullet this past season and it's essentially going to to be right back next season so positions like WR, etc. would have to come in at some point. |

" The Jaguars will tank: Jacksonville has mishandled the quarterback position and both candidates — Byron Leftwich, designated the starter, and David Garrard — are shaky. Daunte Culpepper may be a possibility, but he also ranks as an unknown commodity these days.
That uncertainty, the slow development of receivers and the difficulty finding big plays more than offset a nice backfield combination of Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew and a high-ranking defense.
This will be Coach Jack Del Rio's last season in Jacksonville " | |
