And Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver isn't the only NFL owner who dreams of placing "Los Angeles" in front of his or her team's nickname.

Lol.

Jagwired'd is to moderators as a wrongfully accused killer is to the court of law.

I show off my anger after Jags losses. I can't help myself.

HURRICANE!!! (6/20/2008)
http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/25103689

I don't think the Jack Del Rio Foundation would have been initiated if LA plans were in the works.

We're going to be selling out this year.  Who knows, maybe in a few years those tarps will come off and we can pack in 78,000 !!!  This city is growing and those bad arse 20 year old fans we have that come to the game screaming their lungs out are our 1st generation fans that have grown up with the team

That's like saying Coughlin started the Jay fund because he never intend to leave.

That' being said, he didn't uproot it all when he moved to NY - he kept the HQ here.

JDRs foundation, like the Jay fund, was built out of compassion and without regard to other issues (like him or the team moving.)  There's no connection or influence other than a similar strong connection between the men and the charities they've started.

Anyone ever notice the guy leading the charge about the Jaguars attendance/moving is Mike Florio/PFT guys? It's the same article over and over and over....

LA has lost 3 teams, right? Giving them another team I'm sure would work out.

Yes, it's always Mike Florio. This is about the 12th article I've seen about this, and I swear most of them are written by him.

I started liking PFT, but he is on the decline again.  The guy likes to start as much controversy as possible.  He is just like ESPN and the other networks....he caters to the big markets.  Same old crap, different day.

We all know that the team that is moving to LA is the Vikings. I mean LA took the Lakers from Minnesota, so why not the Vikings?

In the words of Miley Cyrus .... "SAY WHAT !"

Coughlin started the Jay Fund as the Jags have a solid foundation in Jacksonville

JDR started the JDR foundation as the Jags have a solid foundation in Jacksonville

I look at it more as a supporting statement that both coaches were extremely close to Wayne Weaver and felt secure with the fact that the Jags would remain in Jacksonville.

For the record, TC was fired - that has nothing to do with the Jags moving cities.

They both started their charities in Jacksonville simply because that's where both men lived and worked when the charities were born.  Nothing more.

There is no other corellation to be made, plain and simple.

You missed the last point completely.  <shakes head>  The point is, where the charity is founded and/or stays headquartered is not related to the fact coaches and teams may (and do) leave town.  Tom's charity stayed put even though the man left.  Del Rio likely won't retire a Jaguar coach, so it's likely one day he'll leave town too.  Those are just the realities.  He may or may not move his charity whenever he's no longer employed by the Jaguars.

I'm not saying the Jaguars are leaving or are in danger of leaving.  That's an entirely different debate that isn't associated with the foundation of the charity.  If you were wondering, my actual opinion is that we won't move, and we'll be here a long time.  My point is just that it's improper to think one has a impact on the other.  That's not necessarily true.

Agreed...a foundation's shelf life is year to year just like a coach's.  Even the Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation...all well and good, but its existence doesn't represent the NFL's or the team's intentions on staying put or leaving. I'm happy both it and the JDR Foundation have been created though, regardless of the future of Jack or the franchise.

Either write something worth reading, or do something worth writing.

the neutral stadium Idea sounds pretty cool to me.

its the last thing he mentioned as a possibilty, and lets not kid ourselves. Until we actually sell the stadium out every year after year, were going to be mentioned as a moving possibilty. He also named several other teams.

but the neutral thing where 16 games are played at "neutral" stadiums with 8 games in europe, canada, or japan and 8 games at LA sounds like the best idea to me, really making the NFL into a worldwide sport.

just a fan, I cheer the good and boo the bad.
