| I'm surprised, just based on things that were said by Vic and others about how good he looked. I can only speculate that in addition to liking what they saw in terms of talent in this new guy they also liked his size.

| Dayum, I wonder if they'll give the "give him a better chance of making another roster" excuse. Vic said Coach Pola was letting him have it for fumbling and missing blocking assignments last week, but I though they were high on the kid.

| | Lavarus Giles had 10 carries for 19 yards in 2006. 87 carries for 514 yards in 2007 with 5 TDs. both seasons with Jackson St. looks like his only significant carries came in their last two games of the 07 season. and he made the most of them. Looks like coming out of high school he was gonna go to Bama. But ended up at JUCO for 2 years before he ended up at Jackson St. anyone else see some news on him? Looks like he was signed with Tampa Bay right after the draft.

| I wasn't really expecting DD to make the team anyway...perhaps his play went beyond fumbling, missing assignments, etc.
Either write something worth reading, or do something worth writing.

| | I had him making the roster in my last prediction. This is surprising news. I too thought they liked both his agility to bounce outside and his sub-4.4 speed. But I guess they prefer Chauncey's unique combination of power and speed. Suddenly, Montell Owens looks roster spot becomes all the more secure as well, although there is still a slight chance that Cotrone beats out Owens for the backup FB role leaving Owens to fight with Washington for the 3rd RB spot. Typically they'd release a player for the sole purpose of adding another play since their roster was full prior to his release. Any word of a new signing? Did a fifth rounder sign early?

| i think they like this new guys size... 6'1 230.. wonder what kind of speed he has... the jags want a 3rd RB who is young, with size and decent speed to groom behind taylor and drew... they dont want a scat back...
Rashean the I-N-T Machine Mathis- best CB in the game
TMD's "predictions" so far for 08 season:
-Minnesota and Philly in the NFC championship game with Minnesota in the Superbowl
-Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game
-Houston a top 5 rushing team in the 09 season
-Houston seeded higher in the playoffs than the jags
- jags finishing 9-7 at best
- Browns finish better than the Jags
-Jags finish last in the AFC South after a bad showing in the preseason
TMD and I have a bet for $100 on the Jags wins
-Denver winning the AFC West LOL
-Bengals over Jags 24-21

| They must be fairly confident that Terry will be around and possibly be re-signable at a later date to cut him this early for another guy nobody's heard of.

| Jags02 (6/11/2008) I had him making the roster in my last prediction. This is surprising news. I too thought they liked both his agility to bounce outside and his sub-4.4 speed. But I guess they prefer Chauncey's unique combination of power and speed.Suddenly, Montell Owens looks roster spot becomes all the more secure as well, although there is still a slight chance that Cotrone beats out Owens for the backup FB role leaving Owens to fight with Washington for the 3rd RB spot. Typically they'd release a player for the sole purpose of adding another play since their roster was full prior to his release. Any word of a new signing? Did a fifth rounder sign early? If Cotrone shows promise as an H back, he may squeeze into the last TE spot if there's no more available back spots. Wrighster's injury status seems to be hurting his chances of sustaining his position on the roster. First it was the back, now the knee. He's signed through 2011, but he's not necessarily standing out in the crowd like he was beginning to earlier in his career. Estandia and Angulo filled in well when called upon. It's not like we dropped off when he went out, and if he can't come back 100%... he may no longer be needed.
