WOW unfortunately the Red Wings won, but the Penguins battled until the final buzzer. What a game, that seemed to be done with 11 minutes to go. As the Penguins have showed throughout this series, there is no quit in them. This team will probably be back in Stanley Cup next season. They are absolutely loaded.

I think the last time I watched hockey was the last Stanley Cup Finals. Anyways, it was great stuff. This is coming from someone that barely knows about the sport and is not a fan of it. I don't think hockey is boring, it's just something I'm not familiar with, especially being from the South.

I hear ya. It is not something I'm a fan of, but I quickly understood why people watch it.

I follow College and pro football.. college and pro basketball.. pro baseball and the English soccer league as well as the Italian.. (and of course the world and euro cups).. If I tried following Hockey I think I'd lose my g/f.. she hates sports.. (except SUndays at Jaguars games)

As a Pens fan, I can't watch it.  Too painful to watch our team get dominated for 5 games now.  Even the wins are painful -- guess I was used to them rolling over the Senators, Rangers, and Flyers.

Not complaining here but man, we're getting outskated, outhit, outshot .....

Wings in 6

I'm a Wings fan, and I couldn't disagree more. .

Series shots on goal Wings 192 / Pens 120 --- In the prior games the pens have by far outshot their opponents.  Usually the team with the big lead has less shots on goal because they go in defensive mode but the wings even outshot the pens 70-39 in the opening 2 games and outscored us 7-0.

The next 3 games we were outshot 122-79 but win in points 8-7.

Regarding the wings shots... they are quality shots too... hitting the post, etc.

There's also a stat on checking but I can't find it now.  Perhaps you're used to seeing the wings dominate the stars & ducks like I was used to seeing the pens dominate the senators, flyers, and rangers BUT this is by far the best 2 teams in the league.

Couldn't agree more. It was a good series, and hopefully we'll have a repeat next season. If so, maybe we'll throw out a friendly wager.

Even thought I hate the dead wings, the Stanley Cup belongs there. Not in the southern team crap like it has been.

I really thought Hossa's last second goal was in, wow so close...

But Pittsburgh got outplayed by Detroit. Pittsburgh is not yet on the same level. I look for them to return next year to the playoffs for another run.
