| I will give my opinions and a rating from 1-10
Sam Kouvaris - (9) I think he has the broadest knowledge base and is probably the best true journalist of the bunch in terms of delivery on TV as well as on the radio. He does not play to sensationalism and simply reports the news well.
David Lamm - (2) By far the worst radio voice I have ever heard in my life. I feel as though he is going to vomit on the microphone after every sentence. He represents the "Good Ole Boy" mentality in Jax, and seems to be a favorite among those who believe the south will rise again and fly the confederate flag on their trailer home or have the decal on their pickem up truck. He gets points for being able to bring on some great guests on his show, but when they speak and he is silent is usually the best part.
Brian Sexton - (2) Seems to be a good guy overall, but I don't think he has talent. The voice of the Jaguars should carry more personality on the radio in my opinion.
Tony Boselli - (4) Probably the greatest Jaguar in our short history, but seems to play the role of bully more than anything else on his radio show. I used to like SFR in the morning, but with his addition it seems like it is just constant fighting. If anything I wish he would provide more insight into the game of football from a locker room standpoint, but seems to be driven to prove that he is not just some dumb football jock which clouds his commentary.
Jeff Prosser - (5) Seems to have a decent intelligence of sports, but comes across as whiny in my opinion. Maybe it is his voice.
Dan Hicken - (4) I think he screams too much on his show. Just seems like he is always yelling. He plays more of a jester role with his songs, as well as mediator between Prosser and Boselli on the radio show.
Frank Frangie - (7) A self proclaimed gator homer, but I think he knows what he is talking about relative to football and does not try to to step outside of his bounds. Has a good voice and a good delivery, but sometimes goes off on tangents and ends up nowhere. I think his fault is that he tries to prove most callers right when some of them are making no sense at all.
Mike Dempsey - (8) I think he has a great delivery, speaking concisely and adds to the conversations with Frangie on his show very well. Is touted on the show as the resident expert on NFL, and seems to know quite a bit about other sports without trying to hard to show everyone what he knows.
Pete Prisco - (7) Overall does a nice job and provides insight, but I think he is too consumed with being right all the time and never admits when he is wrong.
Jeff Lageman (10) When he speaks I turn up the radio, and his TV segments are very insightful. As far as former players go, he does right what Boselli does wrong. In my opinion the best in Jax, although it is only limited to NFL talk and I guess hunting/fishing.
Vic Ketchman (7) I think Vic should stick with the written word and leave the spoken word to others. It seems that most love or hate Vic, and count me in as one who appreciates his journalism. He may be a little old school, but may have the highest NFL intelligence in Jax. I only downgrade his number because of his radio work. |

| | Lageman does a great job. And I liked Pete's show. We have nothing down here in Orlando. lol. The only good radio show heard down here is Jim Rome.

| I'd have to go with Prisco.
TMD on Mike Walker Sep.7: "because he stinks" "Why don't you get it? WTH has this player done, besides be an OTA wonder?" "In the exhibition games, he's shown eggo hands." "It's like you people are truly shocked/ mystified/ surprised that Harris produced another bust." FREE JAGSTUNNA!!!!!! PRAISE MOD

| | Hicken is really funny I think... you have to realize their show is the least serious of all by far, although in general I agree with you. I'd rate Prisco higher than Frangie/Dempsey, my only thing with him is he constantly brings up the same things to troll callers. |

| | My biggest different opinion is on Sam; I don't really like listening to the guy. He's too condescending, kinda like Lamm but without being funny. I like Hicken, Ketchman, and Prisco. I'd say Boselli, Frangie, and Lageman are all pretty good. Lamm and Sexton are just ok. I don't really like Prosser, McManus, Kavaris and Dempsey. |

| Well I can't listen to the radio like most of you can. So I will say Vic get my vote. I've always had the football mentality that he has and he really makes the offseason not so bad.

| | You left out Tom McManus and Rick Balou. I like McManus okay. Besides being an ex-Jag player, he seems like a regular guy and brings a lot of insight from his past football experience. Balou on the other hand is a waste of air time. He brings up "Bud Select" beer every five minutes and talks about other things besides sports way too much. I wish McManus was paired with somebody else. To the original poster: How would you rate those guys? By the way, I despise Prisco. He is whinny and like you said, cares way to much about being right all the time. His assessment of Garrard was very telling of his football knowledge---"He's just a guuuuuuuuuuuuuy!" Give me a break. Has anybody heard Gene Frenette fill in for Prisco? That is torture.

| You're rating Kouvaris, Frangie, and Dempsey way, way, way too high.
If it's not Gator football Frangie is lost. Not to mention I don't think I've ever heard the man state an opinion. It's like he talks out of both sides of his mouth as to not offend anyone.
Kouvaris thinks he's way more of a big deal than he really is. Saying Kouvaris doesn't play to sensationalism is hilarious. Remember his pathetic diatribe about the Jaguars not trying hard enough to sell tickets during training camp last year?
Dempsey is ok, but tries way way too hard to break a big story. I don't think he's as "in" with the Jaguars as he makes it seem.
Lamm's show is awful. I haven't listened to it in about 2 years.
I love Sports Final. I used to not like Boselli on it, but I think he fits in nicely now.
Ballou brings more of a "national" feel, and has tremendous connections. McManus used to be just a loud jock on the radio, but he's evolved nicely and meshes really well with Ballou. He brings a nice player side.
Prisco is the most connected in town as far as the NFL and the Jaguars. You can tell he's a players favorite. A lot of people whine he never admits he's wrong, which he does. However, he's right a heck of a lot more than he's wrong and people don't want to admit that. I don't understand what the Garrard fans want him to do, and I think it's hilarious when he pokes at them.

He was just a guy before Mike Shula came in the picture.
I know.. you think Shula had nothing to do with it and the magical football pixies came and dusted David with magic mechanics-changing dust and the ability and talent that was always there was unlocked.
It must be great living in a fairy tale.

The McManus/Spicer show was my favorite Sports Talk last season.... |
