Stigma (5/19/2008)
Here is what Adam Schein had to say about the Texans...

9. Houston won eight games a year ago. The Texans were a team to watch this offseason to see if they could get over the hump and make a true push in perhaps the toughest division in the NFL.

I really think, though, the Texans missed the boat this offseason.

The Texans needed another shut down cornerback to go along with Dunta Robinson, who is coming off of a major injury. If Jacques Reeves is the answer, I'd love to know the question. Houston paid way too much for a cornerback who got burnt more in Dallas than a bad piece of toast.

Houston needed a running back. Chris Brown doesn't exactly excite me.

And I have no idea what Houston was thinking in the first round. The Texans traded down and didn't select Mike Jenkins, who would've been perfect at corner. They needed a left tackle, and they grossly reached second-round talent Duane Brown in Round 1.

While I think they stole Steve Slaton and Xavier Abibi on Day 2 of the draft, this was not what you were looking for from Houston at all.

Reminder ...

The Schein-box (video-style) returns this week with a slew of reader e-mails, so keep sending them in!

link please....

As far as Mike Jenkins......do you mean the cornerback who openly admited he doesn't like to tackle in the running game and can't even cover the UDFA WR that Dallas signed after the draft? ugh...I'd rather have this guy... http://www.onnetworks.com/videos/draftguys-tv/profile---antwaun-molden---cb Who is already turning heads in our camp and has many of our coaches thinking they got another steal like Fred Bennett.

The interesting thing about the draft, and something that I have rarely if ever heard the experts talk about, is that value isn't found on draft day.  Value is an idea based on collegiate performance, combine numbers and senior bowl games (I am stating the obvious I know.)  Of those only the senior bowl games really can give you a clearer picture because the competition is closer to NFL caliber.

I've seen many players drop after a poor Senior Bowl performance, only to play well in the NFL.  Nathan Vasher was a recent example.  Likewise I've seen guys look great in the Senior Bowl and poor in the NFL (Matt Jones).  It's just one data point.  The advantage of the Senior Bowl has more to do with seeing how the players practice and learn than the actual game.

Ideally you find a guy who played well in college and has combine numbers that imply he'll do well in the NFL too, but you can still end up with a guy like (OT) Mike Williams who eats his way out of the NFL, or someone with chronic injury problems like Byron Leftwich.

Clearly this thread should be about how AWFUL the Texans CONTINUE to BE and WILL BE for the forseeable future due in large part to the incompetence of their Front Office.

I would really love for you to pull up our drafts under Kubiak and realize how stupid you look.

As we all know a lumpy liquid flows downhill and it stinks to high heavens. Yet to Texan Fans this is a fountain where all come to drink.

lame smack......hmm, I guess you pulled up our drafts and realized you don't have a leg to stand on, huh. Oh well when your smack is weak to start with, it has a hard time holding up against anybody that actually has a clue what they're talking about.

Does anyone on this board really care what some Texan fan says? We all know the state of the Texans and it is analogous to a cess pool. They STINK and are full of @#%*!

Who has not stepped in a pile of dung?

IT HAPPENS!

Can anyone tell me the year that the Texans finished ahead of the Jags in the AFC South Divisional Rankings?

(Hint: NEVER!)

The Texans STINK!

Always have and always will!

Carr, you're not going to win this one.

When Stigma gets backed into a corner he ignores everything actually said by those involved and just goes on a self righteous rant while throwing in some veiled or indirect personal attacks along the way.

If you really get him good he'll just tell you that you're too "STOOPID" to comprehend his reality.

(Watch, he'll respond to me by saying something along the lines of me swimming in feces because I took the Texan fan's side. He's so creative.)

Carr Bombed is right. Under Kubiack, the Texans look to be making a shift into high gear. They got talent, and they can beat us as easily as they can beat anyone else.

It's not a good thing to overlook the "bad" teams, because the young kid on the block may be bigger then the bully later on in life.

About time. Finally, I get my space back!!
