the drastic difference between North Florida and South Florida? Thoughts? Pros and Cons Listen, Miami is crap. IF you have money go to Palm Beach or St Lucie, why live in Miami? If you're just a regular working person, Jacksonville is better than Fort Lauderdale/Miami etc. IMHO Also the English thing, honestly, if you don't speak Creole/Portuguese/Spanish(with the *right* accent) you can't even MAKE IT in Miami, no joke!!!!!!!

| I once heard a comedian say Florida is a backwards state. The further south you go the more northern it gets. By the time you get to Ft. Lauderdale your back in NY. There is alot of truth to that.

| | the rudeness factor is out of control down here. The New Yorkers/New Jersey thing is far worse in Palm Beach County. When I told an NJer that I was from Jacksonville he had the arrogance and idiocy to say : "Jacksonville is an okay city, but they need to raise the quality of its people." I said, dude, turn around and walk away...swiftly. |

| Bjagfan (5/16/2008) Also the English thing, honestly, if you don't speak Creole/Portuguese/Spanish(with the *right* accent) you can't even MAKE IT in Miami, no joke!!!!!!!Nonsense. I don't speak Spanish, visit Miami a lot because my in-laws live there, and have never had anyone fail to speak English to me. Also, the only time I was ever treated rudely in Miami was by a government bureaucrat at the passport office (who spoke English).
