| Bare-breasted Starbucks logo prompts call for boycott A Christian group based in San Diego found grounds for outrage over the new retro-style logo.Seems that one person's smut is another person's morning latte. A Christian group based in San Diego found grounds for outrage over the new retro-style logo for Starbucks Coffee. The Resistance says the new image "has a naked woman on it with her legs spread like a prostitute," Mark Dice, founder of the group, said in a news release. "Need I say more? It's extremely poor taste, and the company might as well call themselves Slutbucks." The group, which claims more than 3,000 members nationwide (very small group ) and has found a place on the fringe advancing various conspiracy theories, is calling for a national boycott of the coffee-selling giant. | Ridiculous.
She's spreading her legs like a prositute, huh? If they can show me where those "legs" are I'll donate 1000 dollars to their cause.
If they actually stopped TRYING to find something to be offended about they'd be able to take the time to LOOK at the logo and see that it's a twin-tailed siren. No legs to speak of.
The breasts are debatable depending on one's personal opinion of where to draw the line on censorship, although I think the logo was done in good taste as it is modeled after Medieval woodcuts which sometimes depicted breasts as well.
Maybe they'll get their point across with their boycott though. Slutbucks should lose millions due to those 3000 people not drinking coffee that many of them probably didn't drink in the first place.

| How the heck do people find the time to protest something as ridiculous, and still have time to whine about the cost of living? It seems like there are so many people running around with axes to grind instead of making a living and contributing to the economy in some resourceful way. This is turning into a rant and I don't have time.

| It's truly ridiculous. But then so is paying five bucks for a cup of coffee.
