| Oh no! we got Joey Porter instead of Jerry Porter! They fleeced us! Shack Harris is so dumb!
'Among the plentiful offseason Jaguars moves that Harris has helped orchestrate, the Jaguars extended Del Rio’s contract through the 2012 season, grabbed receivers Joey Porter from Oakland and Troy Williamson from Minnesota, nabbed cornerback Drayton Florence from San Diego, gained defensive coordinator Gregg Williams from Washington and moved up in the draft to swipe Florida defensive end Derrick Harvey.' |

| | I think Shack Harris' soft spoken demeanor is one of his greatest assets. He displays a quiet confidence that shouts TEAM FIRST! He is not called the Jags GM, but everybody in the league knows that he is the Jags GM. He allows JDR to shine while he steps back from the limelight. He shares power and makes no bones about the fact that decisions are made in the best interest of the team. It is very refreshing to see a man of power get the idea that it is NOT ABOUT HIM. All Shack Harris does is his job and he apparently is doing it well enough to supply the team with a talentbase that has become the envy of the league. |

| | This is a guy that deserves a whole lot more respect than he gets from certain nitwits on this board. Should we agree with the bed wetters that have been known to refer to Shack as a monkey, or a monkey dung sweeper, or a host of other derogatory labels that mask what their actual hatred is about? Or, should we take the word of the professionals that work with this guy on a more equal basis? This article further exemplifies why some on this board can't stand Shack for reasons that have little or nothing to do with actual football.

...I guess you better include Wayne Weaver on that list too, then because if he was as pleased with the job Shack has done as apparently you are & that flack writer, then he would not have had some of his power taken away this past offseason, and he would have been given a fat five year contract extension with hefty pay raise. That did not occur. He was given a 1 year - "show me" deal.
I love how people always have to trip over themselves rushing to use the race card, when all else fails.

BTW, please don't try to read the mind of Wayne Weaver. You have no idea what he's thinking. Stick to what you know. If ESPN isn't spoon feeding you with your thoughts, you're pretty much relegated to Barry Manilow's greatest hits, and patterning your entire wardrobe after the Village People. If Weaver was even remotely unhappy with Shack Harris, the GM wouldn't be here any longer.
