Maybe greg williams wants a hard hitting brian williams (sean taylor type) for his upcoming defensive schemes

rofl?

How many memorible big hits can you name for Brian Williams... ?

The Pitts game he had some nice hits.. (last year - monday night @ home)

How many chances does a CB really get to lay wood? Not as many as a safety.[/quote]

Which is why it's humurous to hear people talk about him as a big hitter? Who's he laid the wood on? Some WR's?

Who do you feel more comfortable with in man coverage: Florence or Williams?

IMO, it's Williams. Florence's metrics last year were posted here awhile back. They weren't pretty. He also lost his job as the #2 mid-season.

I think it's better to keep Williams at CB and have Florence be the nickel. Sensabaugh is a solid player. If Sensabaugh goes down again, then it would make sense to move Williams to SS, but otherwise it's better to keep him put.

When has Anthony Gonzalez done ANYTHING? He had 1 catch for 22 yards combined with Terry Cousin covering him.

Antwan Randle El? Really... ? That's what you're worried about?

I guess I may have worded it wrong. Either that or posters are nitpicking the WRs I chose for example.

Speedster WRs in the slot would absolutely abuse Brian Williams. There's no doubt about that. I really don't know why people would move Williams to NB because he just doesn't fit there.

Which speedsters have owned him in the past?

Reggie Wayne isn't what I'd classify as a "speedster", either.

Exactly. It might be because Reggie Wayne is a monster accelerator, who knows. Might be Reggie Nelson's fault, Who knows. But I do know one speedster that owned him in the past.

Santana Moss is one.

Wrong, he owned Terry Cousin and Deon Grant. Brian Williams missed a tackle when they were inside the 10, that was about all Santana Moss did to him. With the catch in OT, Williams made a play on the ball and Grant let Moss run past him for the TD. It was hardly a case of Moss beating Williams up and down the field all game, far from it.

Whatever.

All I know is Moss had a big game that day, and Williams covered him the majority of the time.

Moss had 3 TD's.  The first was a little curl route caught on Terry Cousin which he went for 50+ yards on, the 2nd TD was on Rashean in the red zone, and the 3rd game winner was vs. Brian Williams and Deon miss played it.

Who else would a CB lay the wood on?

He got Hines Ward two times in that game.

Laying wood on a WR is loads different than on a RB/TE.

You know, It's funny back on the day we lost that game, Everyone blamed Brian for playing piss-poor.

Now everyone looks back and says it's totally not his fault that Moss ran wild. Moss did have Williams for most of the game, Regardless of who he scored the TDs on.
