I never doubted that Brian Williams CAN play Safety at a respectable level.

My issue lies with the question being "how is this secondary actually "improving" overall from last year with this set up?

Are you kidding me? If you think that Knight to Williams is a lateral move please don't offer your opinion.

Sammy Knight played very well last year. You make it sound as if he was crap or that you expect Br Williams to somehow morph into Rodney Harrison in his prime.

I think you're the one who needs to get a check up from the neck up.

I think saying Knight played "very well" is pushing it a bit.  He filled in a gap nicely, but other than that he was just eh.

maize is right... asante samuel is a product of NE's system... he plays zone atleast 90% of the time... philly puts their corners on islands more often, and they are going to see why NE did not fight to keep him

Rashean the I-N-T Machine Mathis- best CB in the game
TMD's "predictions" so far for 08 season:
-Minnesota and Philly in the NFC championship game with Minnesota in the Superbowl
-Denver Broncos in the AFC championship game
-Houston a top 5 rushing team in the 09 season
-Houston seeded higher in the playoffs than the jags
- jags finishing 9-7 at best
- Browns finish better than the Jags
-Jags finish last in the AFC South after a bad showing in the preseason
TMD and I have a bet for $100 on the Jags wins
-Denver winning the AFC West LOL

I think he was closer to "very well" than "just eh." He wasn't the best in coverage, but he was way more than I expected him to be as a run stuffer.

What in people's right minds make them think Brian Williams can cover Randle El, Anthony Gonzales, and WRs of the like is beyond me. He can barely cover Reggie Wayne.

Williams would get ate alive at NB. You'll see him playing the starting CB spot against every team except the Colts, inwhich Williams probably will be playing SS, Starks at NB, Florence on Wayne, Mathis on Harrison.

Jagwired'd is to moderators as a wrongfully accused killer is to the court of law.

I show off my anger after Jags losses. I can't help myself.

We had no pass rush last year. Any CB looks bad when the QB has all day to determine where he wants to go with the ball.

Actually, I've watched 2 games the last 2 nights where BW dropped the hammer.

Let me ask you this, since you seem to think BW is a downgrade somehow at safety.............

Is he going to be better or worse in coverage than the safeties we've put out there the last 5 years?

Is he an upgrade in coverage or not?

Randle El and Gonzales put together wouldn't equal Reggie Wayne's talent. We're talking about a pernnial pro bowler playing alongside another HOF in marvin harrison. Few DBs in the league can cover Reggie Wayne, And with B-will not having the pressure from the front 4 needed to beat the colts, it gives the impression he's a poor coverage DB.

The likes of Quinten Jammer slowing down Reggie Wayne? No way. But he only had 76 yards against the Bolts in the playoff game. That's 60 yards less than he had in either of the Jags games. The difference? They didn't get any sacks, but they hurried Manning with the pressure.
