Adam Schefter says that they are working out a deal.

Addai, Rhodes, Hart.

I hope it's true.

I thought your running game was pretty stout without him. He's obviously not going to be the starter anymore, and he's not much of a change of pace, so what would be his role??? Depth???

Depth for sure, And Dom is a little more of a North and South runner compared to Addai. Kenton's days are probably numbered.

Much needed depth.

If Addai were to get hurt, the only men in the lineup would be Mike Hart and Clifton Dawson.

In my humble opinion, we didn't run the ball enough at key times.  In our week 2 game against the Titans, I was screaming at the screen for them to run the ball more because it was working (especially late in the game before Tennessee's last posession, when Manning went three and out).

I believe that this addition is much bigger than what it sounds.  I don't have confidence in Addai's abilities to handle a full workload.  Mike Hart and Dominic Rhodes are good backups and I have the confidence that if Addai were to go down, those two could come in and be good enough to win.

With Addai, Hart/Rhodes, Rhodes/Hart, we have a nice pack of runners that will do well behind Manning.  We play a schedule that will force us to run the ball in order to win.  I said backup running back was the top priority going into the 2008 offseason and repeatedly said to another poster here, who asked me how the Colts could improve off of the loss to the Chargers, that getting a backup running back through the draft would be a way.  We got an apprently good value pick in Hart.  After the 2006 season, Rhodes has certainly earned his stripes in a blue uniform in the effort to replace the leading franchise running back that was Edgerrin James.

We picked up three offensive linemen in the draft and have two proven running backs in Addai and Rhodes, and again...another young guy in Mike Hart.  We have all of the tools needed to run the ball successfully.  If you are a Jaguar fan and you can't get enough of Fred Taylor and Maurice Drew, then you can't say with any objectivity that the Colts haven't improved in the offseason.

Sucks for Keith. I thought he was a pretty good change of pace. I only got to see a handful of Colts games last season, and I thought he looked pretty good. But if you have a chance to upgrade your roster...

I'll go on record here that I'll be very surprised if Rhodes makes the final '08 roster. I could be wrong, but I think he's camp meat.

The guy started 2 games in Oakland last year and ran for over 100 both times. He got buried on the bench, and the 4 game suspension didnt help at all. He'll be just fine in Indy, and WILL be on the roster. K. Keith is as good as gone.

A back worth a darn (meaning just about any NFL back which makes a roster) would look good beside/behind Manning. RB won't be a problem with him at QB.

Thats a good point. Also, since he knows the offense hes that much more valuable than another FA pickup.

he looked pretty good outside of fumbling inside the five yard line in the most important game of the year.

I would much rather have Rhodes than Kenton Keith.  More experience and a better overall back.
