| Williams will make this team as the 5th CB...unless Lito really is brought in. Williams is one of those guys you could try to put on your Practice Squad, but he wouldn't last two days.

HIGH SCORE (4/28/2008)
Who ever wrote that evaluation is delusional. If he thinks dude is going to leave USF where he is the 2nd best corner, and come to an NFL roster where he will magically be the best on the team. That is some homerism if I have ever seen it.
Can you say 4th on the depth chart. 5th maybe. Priest Holmes was the 2nd best RB at Texas. Laveranues Coles was the 2nd best WR at Florida St. yet at one point in time both of them were the best at their position on an NFL team. im sure there are other examples but those are the ones of the top of my head. sometimes guys develop later. sometimes the light "clicks" on a little later for some. Im not saying Williams will ever be the best CB on an NFL team but I think he was undeservedly overshadowed at USF. Willis McGahee at Miami, Kellen Winslow at Miami, etc. If you saw USF this year, you would know Trae Williams was a steal!

| Honestly, Trae Williams was probably the most under-rated CB in this years draft...He was in the shadow of Mike Jenkins who went in the 1st round his entire career...Ironically, he was more productive than Jenkins and is the "ALL TIME BIG EAST CONFERENCE INTERCEPTION LEADER"...which means he has great ball skills...Right now, I think has more potential than Scott Starks....He has the potential IMO to be a future starter!

| Caldrac (4/29/2008) He did however, take advantage of Mike's superiority, he needs to thank Mike for all those INT's because he caused the ball to go in his direction. Which leads me to this point, he could barely play consistently opposite of a first round talent CB in Jenkins, so what makes people think that this guy can ever grow into a starter and play opposite of guys like Mathis,Williams and Florence? so in your opinion, if he had fewer interceptions he would have been a better prospect. maybe we shoulda drafted the guy that had zero picks.

| | rfc, Tell us about the DT from Vandy. Does he have any chance to make this roster? Somebody said he was a Seth Payne type DT. Is that because he is a big white guy or does he have something special about him? |

Somebody said he was a Seth Payne type DT. Is that because he is a big white guy or does he have something special about him? there is probably some truth to the big white guy comment. honestly, i never really considered Horrocks a pro prospect when the season ended. but you never know. id be lying if I said I followed him closely. I dont think he played as well this past season as he did two years ago. In 06 i wanna say he led the team in sacks... or was a close 2nd. and he kept forcing a lot of fumbles. i dont remember hearing his name as much this past year. but i seem to recall him being nicked up. he'll have a tough road ahead of him with Henderson, Meier, Landri, McDaniel, Kennedy, etc... he'll probably be a practice squad guy. but now I know who my annual "guy i pull for in training camp" is.

No, im saying those picks are easy to get when you know the ball is going to be thrown to your side probably close to 70% of every game.

I dont know... thats like saying the #3 hitter in baseball wouldnt be any good if it wasnt for the fact that the #4 hitter behind him was such a slugger. The guy is batting #3 for a reason. Only Ed Reed and Aaron Beasley intercepted more passes in BigEast history than Trae Williams. No offense to Mike Jenkins, but im sure there have been plenty of good CBs to come out of the Big East. yet why didnt any of their teammates intercept 15-16 balls or whatever Williams got? Where was the huge interception total by Darrelle Revis' teammate? by Pacman Jones teammate? by Deangelo Hall's teammate? Im sure teams avoided throwing balls their way just like you claim they avoided Jenkins. yet they didnt have any teammates pick off that many passes.
