Clyde Edwards

Strengths:
Good athleticism...Very quick and has a good burst..Great leaper with terrific body control and ball skills..Reliable hands..Will make the spectacular catch...Smart with good awareness...Hard worker...Can also contribute as a return man...Productive.

Weaknesses:
Did not play against top competition...Does not have either the height or bulk you look for...Timed speed is merely average..Not very strong or physical...Has trouble beating the jam....Won't break too many tackles....His upside is most likely limited.

Notes:
Grambling's career leader in touchdowns, receptions and receiving yards...Posted a 4.0 GPA numerous times in college...A four-year starter...Lack of size and speed will limit him to a backup / return specialist role but he could get a chance in camp.

Michael Grant   sooooie

Strengths:
Excellent timed speed...Very athletic...Smooth with fluid hips..Good hands and ball skills...Has terrific range...Physical and will support the run...A good tackler...Offers a lot of versatility...Can also contribute on special teams...Still has a ton of upside.

Weaknesses:
Is undersized and does not have the bulk you look for..Questionable instincts and awareness...Might be a bit of a 'tweener...Still somewhat raw and has never been able to master a single position...Has some durability concerns...Workout Warrior?

Notes:
Has experience at both safety and cornerback and could project to either position at the next level...Was also a track All-American in college...Tore his ACL in '06..He really helped himself with a great forty time at the Scouting Combine...Interesting prospect who had a nice senior campaign but will likely be chosen earlier than he should be based more on workouts and potential rather than on-field production.

brian witherspoon

Strengths:
A smooth natural athlete...Blazing fast with rare timed speed...Has an outstanding burst to break and recover when beat...Very fluid hips and flips them well....Great leaper...Terrific hands and can be a playmaker...Lots of potential as a return man.

Weaknesses:
Did not play against top competition...Isn't very strong or physical....Needs to bulk up and add weight...Sub par tackler...Struggles to get a jam at the line...Lacks top instincts and awareness..Is raw in terms of technique and will need a ton of work.

Notes:
Started out at Alabama St. in 2003 but did not play football there...Also a Division II Track All-American at Stillman and he even played some baseball for the Tigers as well....Might be more of a track guy playing football than the other way around but when you're as fast as he is it almost guarantees you a serious look from pro scouts...Probably viewed as more of a return specialist at this point...An intriguing developmental prospect who might be a perfect candidate for the practice squad.

Lamar Myles WATCH OUT FOR THIS GUY!!!!!!!!!

Strengths:
Very athletic...Good speed...Strong...Good tackler...Physical and will deliver the big hit...Excellent range and really covers a lot of ground...Has a non-stop motor..Very good instincts and awareness...More than holds his own in coverage...Productive.

Weaknesses:
Vastly undersized...Has trouble taking on and shedding blockers...Too aggressive at times...Does not play to his weight room numbers...Just a marginal pass rusher & blitzer...Limited experience..'Tweener who may have to make a position change.

Notes:
Played middle linebacker in college but he will probably project to the weakside at the next level...Also being looked at as a potential safety prospect and is open to that possibility...Was basically just a one-year starter...Has a one-rep max of 495 pounds...A surprise early entry who would've been better off going back to school for his senior year..Workout Warrior who has a shot if he lands with a team that's willing to sacrifice size for athleticism...Profiles as a backup and special teams ace.

considering this was the Jags smallest draft class ever and with a smaller draft, there's a good chance more UFA's make the team...

I believe I'm actually excited about some of the UFA's the Jags signed... not just 1 or 2 but a large amount of them. When was the last time anyone's felt excitement about players taken after the draft too? (probably not since the Jags picked up Jimmy Smith, eh? )
