Still, most consider that a HUGE reach, and while what you guys gave up wasn't too bad to move up to eighth overall, it was probably a lot to give up for Harvey. The Jags are largely being looked at as one of the teams that panicked, but if you have to have your guy... but if he was "the guy", why did they move up AGAIN to pick up Groves??? Looks similar to what the Titans did some odd years ago with Schobel, Laboy, and Odom, only difference being that the Titans actually traded down, but all were still high picks. De by committee.

Don't worry. You're not the only team being looked at as potential draft day boneheads. With WR being the most glaring need on the roster, the Titans select... Chris Johnson, RB.

I read in the paper today that they plan on moving Johnson to play WR, not RB. Is that true? Have you heard any interviews where Fisher said this might be the case?

Season 11 of the World's Greatest Football Pool is nearly here! Spots still available!

Once the Saints moved up to take Ellis ahead of the Bengals, Harvey was the Bengal's guy, period.  That has been reported by both NFLN and ESPN as well as numerous websites.  Since Ellis was picked at #7 and the Bengals were going to pick Harvey at #9, where else should we have picked him?

Given the facts, how is picking him at #8 a reach, exactly?

to play the devils advocate, what if that had been a reach for the Bengals?

the Bengals could have wanted to draft ME with that pick and obviously that would have been a reach.  but if the Jags jumped them and took me first, wouldnt it still be a reach?  cuz obviously im not worthy of a being the 8th pick in the NFL draft right?

Bottom line:

Wait till the TEXANS QBs get here 13:00 Sept 28th. After the game we can ask THEM if the trade was reaching....

Why the hell are y'all so **** insecure? Who the hell cares if another fanbase criticizes a draft choice?

Newsflash Jag fans............that's what happens in the draft....everybody has their opinion and some people get paid (Mel Kipper) to give it.

After the crap we went through with the Mario Williams pick, which many of Jag fans blasted......hell everybody did (and I still don't remember a Texan fan starting a "look what the Jags are saying" thread.), I tend to not give a rats *** what anybody thinks.

I hadn't heard that. With the entire class of receivers in front of you, it wouldn't make much sense either. I could, however, easily see him getting ample playing time in the slot. He did play WR some in college, and is said to be an excellent route runner.

NE might have nabbed him.. If not, he was a lock to go to Carolina. John Fox had a man-crush on him.

Maybe he would have, maybe he wouldn't. Either way, he shouldn't have been a top ten pick. He didn't so good his junior year and had a terrible combine as well. Not saying that he's a bad player, just that he probably wasn't worth a top ten pick. As I said, if he was "the guy", you guys wouldn't have had to move up to take Groves as well. That said, both of them could end up being tremendous players.
