| | It would take much, much more than that to move all the way up to #4. |

To go up to the Raiders spot we would have to give them pretty much all of our draft picks and that would still not even be enough. Here's a link to the values.. and remember, when you're calculating.. to move from 26 to 25 you have to give up a draft spot(s) worth that number of points (720). To move up from 26 to 24 you have to give up a draft spot(s) worth the numbers 25th and 24th picks (720+740=1460)... and so on.. it's very costly to trade up. And you're also paying the prospect that you end up with a huge contract so if he's a bust.. you're screwed. http://www.sportznutz.com/nfl/draft/draft_point_value_chart.htm

You have to make up the difference in the value of the two picks, which is 1100 points in your fantasy world. To make up that difference, the Jaguars would have to trade a future first round pick. The entire Jaguars draft is not worth a total of 1800 points, the value of the #4 overall pick. No team will ever make a move that far up the boards without trading a young star player. And before you even ask, Matt Jones is not a star player. |

| I shouldn't be saying anything I guess. I did actually propose an idea for us to get Miami's #1 overall pick so we could draft Chris Long a couple of months ago. But it involved giving them a couple of players (Mike P, Matt Jones, and Stroud when he was still here) and some picks. They would have gotten some needed players and more draft picks.
