I dont get this love for Phillip Merling, he is a good player but is not a pass rusher and is coming off surgery, we dont need any more of those guys.

Calais Campbell is the better player and has been for the last two yearsr, and last I checked guys from the U can play, Ray Lewis slipped, Warran Sapp slipped and Vince Wilfork too. I hope Merling is gone so we have to take Campbell the kid was a top ten pick coming into the season, dont tell me he forgot how to play.

As you can see by the numbers Campbell produced the most by far even tho Merling played 1 more game in their careers. Last year Merling had a lil better numbers and played one more game. I rather Campbell he would be my guy here.

I completely agree with you. Not to mention when it comes to potential, Calais's is through the roof.

Perhaps I'm the only one that sees the upward trend of the developing Merling.

Campbell would be a nice pick in round 2.

I say we trade out of first round for Miami's 2nd and Jason Taylor, Then with that pick, Also take Calais Campbell, So we have a guy that can step right in and produce, And have a rookie develop behind one of the best DE's over the past 6 years. If that could happen, I would most definitely be happy.

VY is already a top 5 QB in this league. He just wins games. And no need for Fred Taylor or MJD we have Chris Henry... he will be better then both of them after this year. Just like Vince Young was last year. BOOK IT.

I'd agree. I think the whole Jason Taylor thing is overrated. Why trade for a guy who's 34, pay him $9 mil per season and he plays 2 years and has 10 sacks. Spicer's already doing that.

I'd rather see them draft a young guy and go that way.

Jared Allen is about the only DE I could see worth them trading for.

I am VERY wary of Campbell's huge dropoff last year. That said, I would be fine with either of them.

When has Spicer had 10 sacks in a season? Never?

Taylor had 36.5 sacks the last 3 years... Spicer had 18.

I'm not sure why you think magically his production is going to be half of what it's been the last 3 seasons. By your logic, Spicer will get about 6 sacks the next 2 years.

because you never know when his productivity will start dropping, its just a really dumb move to even think about trading a early pick for a player his age

Has he shown ANY SIGNS of his play falling off?
