There is no one worth trading up for.

| I would probably say down. The more I think about it the more I am starting to like the idea of our 1st and a 3rd for Taylor and their 2nd. I just think 26 is no mans land for us. If we could get back to Atlanta's second and get Campbell, Jackson, or Groves I would be happy. I think all 3 are reaches at 26 but in the second any of them would be acceptable.

Up if there is a player they like. Trading down gets more picks, but this roster is going to be tough to make and this is considered a weak draft. Although I appreciate the shotgun theory that more picks means maybe something will hit. |

| | You can acquire top tier DEs in either free agency or the draft. Following the Jared Allen deal, the price of an impact DE in free agency (or trade) just went through the roof. Can you imagine the Jags trying to afford Suggs, Peppers, or someone of similar impact next year? ....that leaves the draft. I am assuming the scouting department has Merling ranked significantly ahead of Campbell, Groves, and Jackson as every down ends. I don't think this team needs more sub-package DEs (or DPRs). If Merling falls into the range where the Jags could package a third with their 26th and get him...do it. We have got to get pressure on Manning and Brady, and not wait for third and long to substitute and generate pressure. I don't envision us having a bad season and high draft pick next year...the timing is now. |
