| Stigma (4/24/2008) I think there is a very good shot that Carl Nicks is there at Pick 58 and Red Bryant could definitely be there at Pick 71.We'll see on Saturday.

| Stigma (4/24/2008) Now I could see that kind of deal work for both teams. The Dolphins could claim that they got a Rd 1 pick for Jason Taylor and the Jags could say that they gave up what is equivalent to a high Rd 3 pick (Pick 67). This would be roughly equal to giving up Pick 71 (Rd 3) and Pick 159 (Rd 5).Rd 2 (32): Sam Baker - OLT - USC Rd 2 (58): Dre Moore - DT - Maryland Rd 3 (71): DaJuan Morgan - SS/FS - N. C. State Those three plus Jason Taylor would be SWEEEEET! I just heard on Sirius NFL radio Jason Taylors contract is over 17 million for the next 2 years.. That's a bit high just under 9 million a year. Love the player don't care for the price tag. |

Jason Taylor's high price tag actually works in the Jags favor in a way though...because the Jags can point to Taylor's high price tag as a way to drop the Dolphins asking price in terms of draft picks, as they know that teams aren't going to be lining up to pay that kinda money for a 34 year old DE.
Had Taylor's salary been cheap, it would have been a disadvantage in terms of the Jags trying to get the trade comensation down.
Congratulations to the 2008 WORLD Champions, your Philadelphia Phillies!

What about this...
26: Jason Taylor
32: Tyrell Johnson
58: Carl Nicks
71: Red Bryant
It is unlikely that Nicks or Bryant would still be on the board in those spots. And there is a chance that Tyrell Johnson won't be there at 32 either.
They are all available going by Todd McShay's 7 round mock, except Tyrell is gone at 31.

Miami trades their 2nd Rounder (#33) and Jason Taylor to us.
Thats the one I like. Thats the one the Jaguars should be pushing for. This way, the Jaguars get the experienced DE they want AND also still have 4 selections within the top 3 rounds....with a good chance of being able to add a very good player at pick 32 (its not 33 right, as New England lost its pick, remember? The Giants have the last pick of the 1st round at 31. Not to be a nudge, but Miami's pick is #33. The #31 spot still exists, but ot has been forfeited. I think the purpose of that may be to keep Miami from having 2 "First Round" picks.
