jagabc6893 (4/23/2008) I would hope the pick would be Kenny Phillips if all three of those last were available. Is it possible the interest in Collins and King is for the 2nd round?
Both of those would be reaches in the first IMO.

Reggie Williams was projected easily in the first round. Nice try.
He wasnt supposed to be top 10 though. that was a deep draft.the reggiepick was a reach.
Not saying he wasn't a reach. He wasn't a 2nd round projection though.

| He may have been a slight reach. Most mock drafts had him going in the top 15. Everybody was all over Kenechi Udeze. What has he done prior to his illness?

| | Jack Ikegwuonu has clearly up his criminal charge case regarding the X-Box and now he stands ready to be drafted by the Jags and become a component of a multi-Super Bowl run. Here is the story... Posted by Mike Florio on April 24, 2008, 5:53 p.m. In addition to a serious knee injury suffered in January, Wisconsin cornerback Jack Ikegwuono also has been facing felony and misdemeanor charges arising from the alleged entry into an apartment and theft of a video game system. But now Ikegwuono has one less thing to worry about. According to a source close to the situation, Ikegwuono has pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor criminal trespass charge. The felony charge of residential burglary will be dismissed. Ikegwuono will be placed on probation for 24 months, and he is required to perform 50 hours of community service. He also has travel restrictions, but will be able to move from state to state in connection with his coming NFL job. It’s a prudent move for Ikegwuono, since it removes the stigma of the pending criminal charges as teams prepare to consider drafting him. We’re told that multiple teams have been strongly suggesting the Ikegwuono do what he can to resolve the charges. Also, it’s likely that Ikegwuono’s plea won’t result in scrutiny under the league’s Personal Conduct Policy, since the plea predates his entry into the NFL via the draft. |

| A bum knee and a rap sheet. Yeah, that's just what we need. I don't think the new draft regime will allow that. It will be voted down 2-1.

| | Talent trumps everything else in the draft, especially if it comes as a value pick. Ikegwuonu in Rd 5 offers GREAT value. BTW, unless I am mistaken there has been only ONE perfect person born on earth and we all know what happened to him. Those who are without SIN may throw the first stone. |

| | I would personally have no problem with Justin King as the jaguars selection. you always take the cornerback. he comes into a situation where he already has depth in front of him and you can help him develop into a top corner at this level. his natural skills alone make him a late one kind of guy and when you look at people like king you look at upside. we are at 26 not 6. you aren't going to get a corner at 26 who is a show stoper 10 pick a year sub 4.3 guy. you are going to have someone with speed concerns of techniaue concerns. give me the athletes that work hard and i will hire the coach's. the problem with king is the vic effect. he was the top rated cb coming out of highschool and people thouhgt he was going to be uber dominant. a guy like kenny phillips in my oppinion doesn't help you much because he can't play corner, reggie neslon is already the premier FS you want, and he might not even be the best SS on the roster if GS gets healthy.

| So what about Mike Jenkins? Nobody really talks about this guy that much, where do yall see him going and do you see him slipping to us?
Riding the Brian Witherspoon bandwagon. ______________________________________________________________ Titansfan9157 (8/24/2007) VY is already a top 5 QB in this league. He just wins games. And no need for Fred Taylor or MJD we have Chris Henry... he will be better then both of them after this year. Just like Vince Young was last year. BOOK IT. | |

Nobody really talks about this guy that much, where do yall see him going and do you see him slipping to us?I don't see Mike Jenkins getting past Arizona at 16 or possibly Tampa Bay at 20. If CB was the pick, I wouldn't mind seeing Antoine Cason however...I believe a much better player than Justin King and probably the 4th or 5th best CB...I'm not real high on Aqib Talib, no pun intended.

Maybe he is a "reach," but its only because he was picked before he was projected to be picked. That may sound like a stupid statement but what you have to realize is you're making a value judgment about a guy when you label him a reach just based on what a bunch of pundits are saying. Besides, where any given player gets drafted is not an indicator of what kind of impact he's going to have. Look at the two guys we were/are looking at trading draft picks for: Jason Taylor and Jared Allen were third and fourth rounders, respectively. Is he not a solid, solid contributor to this ball club? Yes. Would he have been available when the Jags picked next? No.
I don't see the problem.
