| Stigma (4/24/2008) Another rumor floating out there is that the Rams are going to take Glenn Dorsey of LSU. Now this is the guy that the Falcons had targeted with the 3rd pick in the draft. The Falcons could take Matt Ryan with the 3rd pick or they could take a DE like Chris Long of Virginia or Vernon Gholston of Ohio State. If indeed the Falcons bypass the QB in Rd 1 and take one of the two DEs this could create a unique trade scenario. Here is the scenario. The Jags approach the Falcons about trading for John Abraham. The Jags offer to trade down out of Rd 1 from Pick 26 to Pick 34 in Rd 2. The Jags throw in Pick 71 in Rd 3, such that the total deal for Abraham is equal to a mid Rd 2 pick. The Falcons replace a 30 year old Abraham with a younger version. The Jags get a 10 sack DE in the deal. With Pick 34, the Jags target Sam Baker - OLT - USC. Would you do this deal? This trade scenario for Abraham makes more sense than the one with the Dolphins for Sam Baker. But, where are you reading this "rumor"? Or is it one you're starting? |

| | id be disappointed with Justin King. per nfldraftcountdown... Weaknesses: Not very strong or physical...Struggles with big wideouts...Raw and needs a lot of work when it comes to technique..Has a long memory...Sub par ball skills and isn't much of a playmaker...Questionable awareness and instincts...Underachiever who does not play to his measurables...Might lack a fire in his belly...Workout Warrior? YIKES! the guy only had 3 INTs in his college career. if you draft a CB in the 1st round, dont you expect him to be a playmaker? per nfldraftscout... | 11/25/07 - CB Justin King leads the Big Ten with 17 passes defensed but has been burned by so many big plays that he will likely return for his senior season in 2008 rather than chance applying for the NFL Draft as his stock has plummeted. |
| 11/18/07 - STILL NEEDS WORK: CB Justin King had allowed yet another opposing receiver to have a big day as Michigan State WR Devin Thomas had seven catches for 138 yards and three touchdowns. |
| 11/04/07 - STILL NEEDS WORK: CB Justin King was called for two pass interference penalties and continues to struggle along with rest of the Penn State secondary as Purdue QB Curtis Painter threw for 255 yards. |
| 10/31/07 - Penn State's defense, No. 2 last week in most categories, was belted for 37 points against the Buckeyes. Cornerback Justin King has struggled the last two weeks with Indiana's James Hardy and Ohio State's Brian Robiskie. He's a guy Dorien Bryant and Purdue might attack. |
|
| 10/31/07 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: CB Justin King must find a way to stop Purdue WR Dorien Bryant after getting beat repeatedly by Indiana WR James Hardy and Ohio State WRs Brian Robiskie and Brian Hartline in the previous two games. |
10/27/07 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: CB Justin King will look to redeem himself against Ohio State after an awful game in which Indiana WR James Hardy caught 14 passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns. The talk about King, a junior, leaving early for the NFL has died down considerably as the season has gone on. 10/14/07 - NEEDS SOME WORK: CB Justin King had only one tackle. The junior’s great coverage skills will make him a high draft pick whether he comes out after this season or waits until after his senior year but he has yet to shed the rap of shying away from contact.

| | btw, how many of these draft folks even have Justin King rated in the 1st round? he looks like a high 2nd rounder at best. didnt we learn our lesson with Matt Jones about drafting a guy who goes shooting up boards because of workouts? The ultimate rule of drafting is that a guy's play on the field should determine his draft rankings! and his workouts should only confirm that spot!

jagabc6893 (4/23/2008) I would hope the pick would be Kenny Phillips if all three of those last were available. Is it possible the interest in Collins and King is for the 2nd round?
Both of those would be reaches in the first IMO.
...It's not like Harris hasn't done that in the first round before...
Reggie Williams
Matt Jones
Reggie Williams was projected easily in the first round. Nice try.

Hollywood Lessons and Moments Scrubs- Todd: "So, once you've got the hole at the bottom of the popcorn box, it's basically just a waiting game." Entourage:Ari Gold: "Let's hug it out, b****" Office Space: Tom Smykowski: It was a "Jump to Conclusions" mat. You see, it would be this mat that you would put on the floor... and would have different CONCLUSIONS written on it that you could JUMP TO." The Office: Michael Scott: Sssssssucker! See, I wanted somebody to take it! Reverse psychology! Michael Scott: Reverse psychology is an awesome tool, I don't know if you guys know about it, but basically you can make someone think the opposite of what you believe, and that tricks them into doing something stupid. Works like a charm.

Yes, Reggie was a reach at #9, but it isn't as though they drafted a guy that was supposed to be a 2nd or 3rd round guy. They took him about 10-15 spots higher than he should have gone. Not as bad as Miami taking Ted Ginn last year.
