| | With the Raiders signing Kalimba Edwards, and the possibility that the team will also draft a defensive end in the first round, Burgess may be unhappy with his situation in Oakland. This guy is a natural pass rusher he had 35 sacks in the last three seasons And i think he will cost us a second day pick (maybe 4th or 5th round pick) |

| | The Raiders would trade him for a fourth or fifth rounder because they signed Kalimba Edwards? |

| brianhalv (4/21/2008) Not happening, next? Why shove this off so fast? Why is it not a legitimate idea?

| If the Raiders drafted a DE that would instantly give them one of, if not THE best pass rush in the NFL. Why in God's name would they trade that away? If they draft a DE with their first pick they then Edwards will be there for depth. He is by no means on the level of Burgess or whoever they draft (probably Gholston).

Because they have a lot of other needs on that team right now. They could still have 2 good pass rushers if they got rid of him. Depth for most teams, especially those rebuilding is a luxury in todays NFL. They could improve in other areas while still staying strong in the other. Not saying this would happen but to fluff it off is ludicrous.

| Well if that is the route they wanted to go (ie filling needs before depth) then why would they draft another DE in the first place?

| | I neevr said they were going to, but let's say they do. They are a team that is building. They could take a younger end. Trade away one that is still in his prime and be able to get more draft picks for him. I never thought said this would/should happen. But it does make sense. My whole point was that you foo-fooed it away so fast with out any real thought to it.,

| Didn't Burgess have injury issues last year or the past couple of years...?
Congratulations to the 2008 WORLD Champions, your Philadelphia Phillies!
