| | 1. Jerry Porter is not a legit #1 WR in the NFL. 2. Add Chad and we are instantly favored over everyone in our division. 3. A 2nd rounder paired with a late 5th would be perfect bait. 4. Take a DE/DT pass rusher in the 1st. 5. Two picks in the 3rd make up for the lost 2 rounder. 6. Ocho Cinco would sell lots more tickets. Get lots more Media coverage. AND Keep this team in J-VILLE. 7. Upgrade our passing game with 85 and we'll have a dominate offense. I truely believe our O is 1 playmaker away from greatness. The running game is tops in the league Garrard limits his mistakes and Chad can come up with the clutch catches to move the chains on those big 3rd downs. Our offense would really start to light it up imo. End of rant.

You do realize we outscored everyone in our division most of last year. How would Chad Johnson help fix the real reason we didn't win the division last year?
Besides. CJ WONT come here for a 2nd rounder, and WW will NOT invest that much money in the same position when we don't even need it. |

| Can Chad Johnson knock down the passer?
That's all we need, to be quite honest.

We wont get Johnson for a 2nd rounder, We would have to dish out a first rounder and most likely a 2nd rounder in the next darft to get him
Plus, I dont know if you noticed this, But the second half of the season, Only one other team scored more points than us, and that was the P*ts, So i guess that would put us up there with "Dominate offense"....
Its not the OFFENSE that needs help, Wish all of you 85 freaks would figure that out....
Did we lose against the P*ts because our offense was bad??
If we could have gotten even ONE stop on Defense against the P*ts we could of had a legitimate shot at winning that game, So i think we should be focusing on Allen(Dont think that will happen) or Jason Taylor(3 + Matt Jones)...
We dont need 85, At all... So anyone else that is contemplating making a new "OCHO CINCO = MY HERO!" thread, Dont do it. Its dumb.

| ^You're right, because Jarred Allen led the Chiefs to the Super bowl
Did you all forget how we were doing fine against the Patriots until Northcutt dropped that clutch pass that would've kept us matching TD for TD.
Plus the fumble by Garrard that let the Patriots get 1 TD ahead of us for the rest of the game, instead of us being 1 TD ahead the rest of the game.
Those two key facts, and the defensive coordinator who couldn't come up with scheme to stop more than 2 passes all night, those are the reasons we lost that game.
I'm in Cincy this week!! Jaguars time!!
Record: 3-4

You're way too late for this topic. The Jags have settled on their guy already. They feel that Porter offers what they're looking for in a WR and looking for anyone else would just be overkill. So get over it, move on, and just enjoy the '08 season.
everyone's gotta be a friggin critic... | |

1: Yes he is.
2: In a division with Peyton Manning and the colts? Yeah right
3: The bengals are gonna ask for a whole lot more then a 2nd and a 5th
4: Just get the best guy
5: 1 2nd rounder and 2 3rd rounders are always better then just 2 3rd rounders
6: You sell tickets by winning not by making stupid trades. Same goes for media coverage.
7: We already ahve a dominant offense, what we need to do is upgrade our defense, you're not gonna do that by trading picks for a WR.
Playmaker away? Yes. But we have playmakers on offense, we just need on defense, preferably the defnesive line.
I always come to my conclusions by careful, scientific observation.
But only if the results of said careful, scientific observation fully corroborate my biased opinion. If It Ain't Dutch, It Ain't Much

| Why should we say no to Chad Johnson?
#1: WR is not a need.
--- A: You should only trade away first-day darft picks for positions of need.
#2: He's 30.
--- B: It's never a good idea to give away darft picks for a guy who is heading into the tail end of his prime.
#3: He's a distraction.
--- C: The coaching staff can deal with one alleged malcontent at WR. Two would utterly destroy our locker room chemistry.
Overall, I'd be fine with getting Johnson... if he were a free agent and we hadn't already signed Porter. However, now it's just an obsurd idea. |
