| | NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has reinstated Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman, the team announced Monday. Thurman missed the 2006 and 2007 seasons because of violations of the NFL's substance abuse policy. He tried to come back in 2007, but the league drug counselors did not rule in his favor.

| | Odell Thurman is very fortunate the NFL is giving him another opportunity. It will be interesting to see if Thurman takes advantage of this opportunity. If I was in the Bengals position, I probably wouldn't bring Thurman back to the team. This is a team that has had numerous character problems. The move to cut bait with Chris Henry was a step in the right direction for them.
