It kills me to think about leaving Jacksonville. But thinking about relocating to Greenville SC. Its about 6.6% cheaper cost of living for example gas is as low as 3.13 right now. Its 3.67+ in Florida. Housing is dirt cheap looking at a 3000sqft house for 171,000.
dunno its a hard choice, could live like kings up here. anyone from the Greenville area got an advice? We are a young family I'm 23 my wifes 21 and my son is 1 years old.
its really nice in Greenville about 300,000 population not to big not to small, a little more country than I like but its do-able they got all the resturants and movie theaters stuff like that.
You will like Greenville. I live in Darlington, SC which is the "Pee Dee" region because of the "Pee Dee" river, but you will love being close to the mountains and Spartanburg and you are only 2 to 3 hours from Charlotte as well.
Lots to do in that area. You will enjoy it. Oh, but it's hot as hell in the Summer.

| My best friend is a Jag fan. He is also like 1 of 15 Gator fans up there that catch hell from the Gamecock/Clemson fans...
There are a metric crap ton of sports bars/bars there so you can generally always catch the games.

| hey, i'm in the area man. i got a place here in clemson, but frequent greenville a lot. this area is awesome if you like being out doors. Great lakes, waterfalls, hiking, nearby skiing +snowboarding, etc... it gets hot during the summer.. but the winters are fairly long. It just got warm here for good about a week or so ago. downtown greenville is awesome too.

| i used to live in Asheville NC, which is about 50-60 up the mountain. i would frequent Greenville often and find it to have alot to offer. cheap gas, cheap cars and lots to do. as was mentioned it is reasonably close to Atlanta, Charlotte and an easy drive to Jacksonville. plus, unlike Columbia, there are things to do on Sunday. one downside is there are ALOT of rednecks in the area.
