Why do we still respond to this crap? When a show reports a "rumor" without revealing the source it doesn't mean crap. It's just them throwing crap up and hoping something sticks so they can say that they were the first to report on it.

I always come to my conclusions by careful, scientific observation.
But only if the results of said careful, scientific observation fully corroborate my biased opinion.

Be careful, be cautious ... Remember Hugh Douglas? Remember the salary cap hell the Jags were put in after the 1999 season?

Plus, the Jags fans want the team to gradually get better and stay consistent. If your team hits the jackpot and wins the whole thing, the value of the team will skyrocket. Old Man Weaver could then name his price to sell the team and then the new owner would move them into that brand new state of the art stadium in Los Angeles.

Be careful what you wish for!

Taylor would be interesting, but I wouldn't give up too much for a guy that you can probably only count on for 2-3 seasons. I think the 3rd and 5th we got for Stroud would be very fair for that deal. Johnson really intrigues me and I am glad to hear from a somewhat credible source that the Jags are in in the mix for him. I don't know what they are asking for but I'm sure it is a first and something (player or later pick). Being that this is a weak draft, it could be worth it. Johnson and Porter at 1 and 2, with Reggie in the slot, Northcutt as a 4th, and Lewis coming off the line would be absolutley devastating. I can't think of a better receiving corp in the league right now, nor can I think of one team that could handle such an overload.  DG is doing a jig somewhere with his fingers crossed.

Id be very surprised if the Jags go after Chad unless the price is right. I still think at the end of the day though that Taylor makes too much sense for both Miami and Jacksonville

The Jaguars aren't going to trade for Chad Johnson. It is not going to happen.

if we could get jason taylor for a 3rd and 5th and chad for a 1st i would be pleased

with another 2nd and 3rd, moving BACK into the 1st is within reach

with a 3rd and 4th moving back into the 2nd is within reach...

picture this scenario of draft pick uses:

1st round - chad johnson
2nd - lawrence jackson
2nd - (traded for, cosing a 3rd and 4th) Trevor Laws or Red Bryant
3rd - jason taylor
4 - 7th - BAP (probably a running back(chris johnson or kevin smith), a DB (reggie smith?), maybe a linebacker or another d-lineman

if this scenario plays out i could see our team unstoppable...

Sorry to be a negative bee here, but lawrence jackson will not slip to the Jaguars pick late in the 2nd round. And Reggie Smith will not be available in the 4th round either. I'm also doubting Chris Johnson is there to pick in the 4th round too.

I agree with using a mid pick, maybe a 3rd or 4th to get Jason Taylor. Chad Johnson, eh, not so sure...although I'd welcome him with open arms if he came to the Jags, I'm not holding my breath.

It has been reported that the cap hit the Bengals would take trading Chad Johnson would be too much for the team to handle, so unless Jacksonville hands out 9 million to the Bengals plus draft picks, and maybe even players, the trade might not happen but who knows.

I also don't see the Jags trading for CJ.  I'm still not all that knowing in how finances in the NFL work so could someone explain to me how it would work in comparison to CJ not playing and the $$ the Bungles would eat to if CJ were traded and what they would loose.  Like if they payed him his roster bonus and/or if they had to pay him some kind of salary if he sits out the year? If he gets traded would it be less or more a hit on the team?  Also with the whole JT thing.  It was stated to pay him for 2/3 years of production wouldn't be worth it to the team but isn't that almost in comparison to payin Fred the contract he signed for 3 yrs givin his age?  I love Fred don't get me wrong, I think he'll do great,  and with that said I think JT (even at his age) could be just as dominant on the other side of the ball.  Just my opinion.  Gotta look at JT's stats and his consistancy (injury and performance wise) all the way up to last year.  Sux that we just have to sit around and wait doesn't it?

VY is already a top 5 QB in this league. He just wins games. And no need for Fred Taylor or MJD we have Chris Henry... he will be better then both of them after this year. Just like Vince Young was last year. BOOK IT.

In case anyone needs a clue.
Pick a number between 1 and 100, Add 52, Now subtract 7, Add 4, Subtract 13, Subtract the number you started with, Divide by 2, Add 7, Multiply by 4 then subtract 9 ... Viola there's your clue.
Sam

Priceless.
