| Looks like Minnesota has a deal in place to sign Jared Allen. Nothing is final yet, but it is supposed to be done soon. With that signing, I thought Phillip Merling may slip down to the Jags at #26. After doing a mock though, it still probably won't happen. This is how I see it:
1. Mia- DE/OLB V. Gholston
2. Stl- DT Glenn Dorsey
3. Atl- QB Matt Ryan
4. Oak- DE Chris Long
5. K.C- OT Jake Long
6. NYJ- RB Darren McFadden
7. N.E- LB Keith Rivers
8. Bal- OT Ryan Clady
9. Cin- DT Sedrick Ellis
10. N.O- CB D. R-Cromartie
11. Buf- CB Leodis Mckelvin
12. Den- RB Rashard Mendenhall
13. Car- DE Derrick Harvey
14. Chi- OL Branden Albert
15. Det- RB Jonathan Stewart
16. Ari- CB Mike Jenkins
17. K.C- DE Phillip Merling ***from Minnesota
18. Hou- OT Chris Williams
19. Phi- WR Devin Thomas
20. Tam- WR Desean Jackson
21. Was- DE Calais Campbell
22. Dal- CB Aqib Talib
23. Pit- OT Gosder Cherilus
24. Ten- WR Limas Sweed
25. Bal- QB Brian Brohm ***from Seattle
26. Jac- S Kenny Phillips
27. S.D- CB Antoine Cason
28. Dal- RB Felix Jones
29. S.F- DT Kentwan Balmer
30. G.B- CB Brandon Flowers
31. NYG- LB Jerod Mayo
Notes: Jeff Ireland tipped his hand when he made those comments about their draft pick being " a pillar of your defense for a long time." That leads me to believe it is either Chris Long or Vernon Gholston. The latest rumors have the Dolphins ready to negotiate with Gholston after speaking with Jake Long's agent. So I am going with Parcells taking Gholston 1st overall and hoping he is the next Lawrence Taylor. I think Atlanta will go ahead and grab Matt Ryan in the first round now, instead of waiting till the 2nd round. The reason being that there is so much speculation currently swirling around about a team moving up to get Brian Brohm near the end of the 1st round. That team will now probably be Baltimore. After the retirement of Steve McNair, I think the Ravens take no chances to wait for a QB with their 2nd round pick. Finally, I see the Jags grabbing Kenny Phillips and the Eagles pass on him and take a WR instead. Comments?

I agree that their top needs will be DE and OT so do you think they might reach for Harvey thus meaning they can go OT later causing Merling to fall? I really cant wait for the draft, if nothing else just to see how it shakes out, it really is all over the place.

I think they would reach for Branden Albert or maybe Ryan Clady for OL help before they reached on Harvey with that first pick. If either Chris Long or Gholston are there, they would probably take them first. It could be:

2. Stl- DT Glenn Dorsey

| | I wouldn't be so quick to elminate Jeff Long. Reading the article at the Miami Herold about the comment, Ireland points out that it was a "Freudian slip." Moreover, I don't know where you get that the Dolphins are talking to Gholston. According to the same article... Still in discussions with Jake Long, the Dolphins are not believed to have opened talks with any other prospects.
Until I actually read of the Dolphins negotiating with another player, I'm still predicting Jake Long as the #1 pick. If, however, they do go defense, I'm leaning towards Chris Long over Gholston. Also, on Dallas' picks, I'd swap Felix Jones and Talib. Dallas won't risk Jones not falling to their later pick, and Talib might be there anyways given his admission to smoking pot.

I read it some place or heard it on NFL Network about Miami talking to Gholston. I remember specifically because I was surprised it was him and not Chris Long.
As far as Dallas goes, I think they would be more worried about a team like Jacksonville or San Diego snatching Talib if they did not get him first. That's why I have it in that order.
