| dont know if anyone listened to mac and ballou earlier but they were talking about randy shannon who said Del Rio nor Shack have contacted him at all regarding those two players. youd think we wouldnt draft a guy in the 1st round if we didnt bother talking to the coach. unless we were calling up coker.

Last year was rare when Jack sent Mike Smith to have dinner with Reggie Nelson. Usually he is so 007 secret agent with the draft. The only people we meet with are potential undrafted free agents.

| I haven't heard anything about either guy having the Jags look at them. They had scouts at the pro day and had some scouts down there for the bye week during the season, but nothing that would show that either guy is a major target.
Now, here is the kicker...I don't listen to anything that is going on right now...a lot of misinformation...plus, Randy isn't a good interview and shows ZERO cards...ever...I've dealt with him all season...great guy...terrible interview. If the mic is on, you can expect nothing but token answers from Randy. You want an inside scoop from the Hurricanes, you go to Clint Hurtt, Wesley McGriff, or Coach P...definitely not Randy.
Talking to him when the mic is off, now that is a different story, he can get pretty candid.
Like I also said a month or two ago...Jacksonville has never drafted a Hurricane...they've had Rommy on the roster a while back, but that was it, he was an UDFA. Makes me sad, but they are more of a Florida Gator team...ala the Buccs...just easier to evaluate when they are right next door. |

| We aren't looking at Phillips or Campbell because our GM, James Harris is a horses arse.
I count the seconds until we are out from under the hinderance of his "guidance".
Congratulations to the 2008 WORLD Champions, your Philadelphia Phillies!

I count the seconds until we are out from under the hinderance of his "guidance".You do realize they make decisions as a collective unit.. How do you know it isn't somebody else that doesn't want to approach them at this time? Be reasonable.

| Don't jump to conclusions...while, I don't think they've invested a lot of time in looking at these players...even if they truly did inquire about them, Randy wouldn't say anything anyway...the quote is actually pretty moot because of it.
Randy has been in the NFL, he knows how it works. His answer would have been no regardless of whether or not they have talked before. |

| | Maybe the staff simply feels comfortable with what they've already seen in Campbell or Phillips. Maybe they are high on them, but don't expect them to be there at #26. Maybe they are already planning on trading down into the top of round #2. Until next wekend, nothing should be counted out.

| I don't know that either player is an ideal fit. Phillips is more of a FS. They're looking for more competition at SS or CB, but not really at FS. And Campbell is more of a big LDE like Spicer, but what they really need is an elite pass rushing RDE. I'm still hoping that Merling falls. Has there been any word of the Jaguars talking to Merling?
