The San Marco shuttle was very efficient every time Ive used it, but if you live in Arlington, why not use the Beach Blvd (in K Mart parking lot-near University Blvd) or better yet, the Town & Country shopping center(University & Arlington expressway) they are a lot closer to you. The only downside I could see is the San Marco shuttle is $5 and the others are $10. Its worth the extra dollars for less of a drive. Check it out!

The Beach Blvd KMart shuttle stopped running 2 years ago.

Town and Country in Arlington stopped running nearly 4 years ago.

I used the T&C shuttle years ago and found it an easy and quick trip...  I really wonder why it closed down especially after the Winn Dixie shut down and they had plenty of parking in that lot...  I know most of us parked next to the office buildings etc...   I could never get why they moved it to Beach Blvd and then it died...    The Beach Blvd location was bad in that it was not convenient for anyone...  At least at T&C, folks could take the Arlington Expressway and then ride the bus....

They discontinued the service because there were night games that impeded on parking for Plush and the other clubs in the shopping center.  The fact that it was the most convenient shuttle service had little impact when they moved it to K-Mart, then subsequently sent those riders to San Marco.

If you think the Beach Blvd. location is inconvenient, wait until you try the Kings Street Garage.  If you're coming from Arlington or the Southside, the shuttle basically doubles back to the Hart Bridge Expressway from San Marco.  Not the most efficient approach to getting to JMS.

Unfortunately, the JTA was looking for a way to get cars into a parking garage that has been around for nearly 10 years and has gone almost completely unused during that stretch of time, and this seemed like the best approach.

My guess is that they will have to find a new location at some point in the next year or two because the current spot is now a construction site for a high rise that's going in, and that building will almost certainly be using the parking garage with reserved parking.  The residents of the new building will complain, and the JTA will find an even more inconvenient location to put people in if they want to shuttle in for games.  Maybe they can make a deal with Baptist to use their external parking lot, then run the shuttles through San Marco, down to Emerson, then back over to the Hart Bridge Expressway.  Take a ride that should be a 5-10 minute shuttle ride and turn it into an hourlong ride so that you're getting your money's worth.

It almost sounds like I'd be better off crossing the river and parking at the Prime Osborn.

I live on the Southside right off of Merrill rd so what would be the best shuttle to use? I used to use the one at Town and country.

I apologize for giving incorrect info guys. Go with the San Marco shuttle, though, It's nice there with plenty of parking and only $5!

No matter which direction you're going in, you'll have a drive to get to a shuttle.  I'd take the San Marco (King Street Garage) shuttle in.  We live not too far from you, and that's our only option.

Last I saw, they have been building a shopping center in the front lot of that garage to service all of the empty new towers on the Southbank.

Is it still to be used for the games?

That construction has no impact on the parking garage.  It only prevented people from parking in the external lot because that is where the construction has been happening.  The garage itself isn't involved, and has more than enough room to handle the number of gameday riders that show up there.  It's just a silly location chosen by a city entity to use a garage that was built 10 years ago but barely used since.

I guess the theory was "If we build it, they will park." Besides my brother-in-law has been trying to dump that property for years. It'll never be worth anything anyway.

I didn't live here then, but which ones of you voted for the construction of that silly thing?

The monorail that is.
