Why have a CB convert to safety and draft a CB/SS? Why not just leave Williams at corner and draft an actual safety.

I say draft Phillips in the first, trade up in the second and get Lawrence Jackson or Cliff Avril, and take best available DT at the remaining 3rd round spot.

As far as Justin King is concerned, lets run down the long list of productive Penn State CB's in the NFL:

Exactly.

If we plan on keeping BW at corner along with Drayton, then I don't see a reason to draft a corner in the first round. If Williams is moving to safety then corner becomes a position of need.

As it is, with Florence, BW and Shean at corner along with Scott Starks for depth, there's no need to take a corner early on in this draft.

You're right, and VIC has dropped lots of hints about the jags looking at CB. We have also heard rumours of Williams being moved to Safety. If that's the case then picking another CB does indeed become a priority. There are definitely going to be CB's with good value when we pick, but which one also projects as a safety?

Wouldn't it be wise to get a corner back that could be converted to safety in case the Brian Williams move didn't work?

That way we could kill two birds with one stone.

So which cornerback would you get that could fill both needs if need be?

I think Reggie Smith from Oklahoma would fit that description.  Half of the mocks I see have him listed at Safety and the other half at CB.  He is a hybrid, but the problem is a CB/FS not a CB/SS.  We need Strong Safety help more than FS.

Plus Vic is a Penn St./Pitt honk.  I remember two years ago he was all over Alan Zemaitis and Anwar Phillips (both PSU corners).  He was definitely all over Revis and Tony Hunt last year.  This year his man crushes are Otah and King.

"Why don't you get it? WTH has this player done, besides be an OTA wonder?"
"In the exhibition games, he's shown eggo hands."
"It's like you people are truly shocked/ mystified/ surprised that Harris produced another bust."

On my value board for the Jags first pick, Merling is #1, but there is only a 10% chance he is there.  Phillips is #2 and there is about a 50% chance he will be there.

Phillips is the best option we can reasonably expect, IMO.  There will, of course, be other options.  RB, OT, DT, CB, and DE have all been mentioned.

Dre Moore is a good player who isn't quite a first rounder, but who is gone before we select in the second round.  The Jags had a one on one with Justin King, but I tend to think he was a second round target and not a first rounder.  Since our interview with him he has moved up the board slightly.  He is very fast, but there are other CB I like better.

I have read the Eagles are hosting a bunch of WR's this week, so that means they may go WR.  I had them taking Phillips in past mcck drafts, but now I see Phillips sliding to us also.  Check it out:

Gholston #1? I thought Parcells has pretty much locked up the contract for Jake Long.
