Vic may be beating the drums of BAP being a CB, but theJag's Jack/Shack have not always taken BAP on the board at their pick. For instance, lastyear, they took Nelsonby trading back to whereneed met value (and picked up add'lvalue through gaining picks in moving back). With the signing of Florence, it would not surprise me to see themtrade back if the best player(s) available are corners and the top DEs are off the board.

Pretty much every year with Jack and Co Vic has made it pretty clear to us the player that the Jags would take in the first, with the exception of Reggie Williams. So if he keeps going on about it being a CB, it'd be wise to pay close attention to it.

That's because it's been really obvious who they were going to take.

Del Rio was right!

I don't think it was that obvious they would take Matt Jones. There was a lot fo Fabian Washington talk.

i didnt think so.

going in to the 03 draft, i didnt think we'd take Lefty.  only when our guy at the draft was sprinting to the podium trying to beat the vikings did i realize who the pick would be.

didnt think we'd draft Reggie in 04.  WR was definitely a need but he was supposed to be a late first rounder.  not top 10.

and matt jones was a shocker.  vic says he put out some hints but i certaintly didnt pick up on it.

lewis and nelson were farily obvious imo.

Vic made it pretty clear Jones was their guy. I remember him saying something along the lines of Del Rio would get this special look in his eye when he would talk about him, among other things.

I think they would have taken Deangelo Williams if the Panthers hadn't. Good thing they did.

So JDR being the father figure and all is I guess just administering Tough Love to the kid now a days.

i remember him saying that after we drafted matt jones.  i dont remember too many hints before the draft.  but i wasnt really looking for them either.  ive sinced learned about him doing so every year.

Reggie Williams and Matt Jones were both absolute shockers. There was some speculation that the Jaguars were looking at these two, but even then the talk was more about them being possible second round picks. Virtually nobody felt the Jaguars would reach for either player as early as they did.

Leftwich was more of a surprise with how the draft went down, but there was a lot of speculation that the Jaguars would take him if he fell. Lewis and Nelson were as obvious as obvious gets. Most mocks had these two going to the Jaguars.

Cason is an interesting, very safe player. Wouldn't be opposed, but I do think OT and DE and maybe on some levels, DT are the real needs over a corner.

Wouldn't shock me if they took him.

And, I do think the Jaguars have been pretty predictable in recent years.

Lefty was predictable...Reggie Williams was second on their list behind Mike Williams (and after Roy Williams and KW2), Matt Jones was kind of a shock, although, hints were out there...I was thinking Mark Clayton at that pick, tbh...Lewis and Nelson were overly predictable.
